  • Quick check in - NSD 5 today. House work done but sadly my nanowrimo word count for today is zero! I guess I have a good 20 minutes before bed to crack on but I'm pooped. Going to rather head off now and wake up earlier (5am) tomorrow and write for an hour.

Anyone else thinking about buying flannel sheets? After nearly 2 years in India I am feeling the cold today (our first winter back) despite the central heating being on - getting into a cold bed was bliss in 40 degree heat but here it just means I stay cold for ages! Any suggestions on good sheets or tips to warm the bed?
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

Thank you for your thoughts on my returning to work this week. Just to keep it from being monotonous, we now have the inspectors in. Yikes.

    Morning Everyone!

thrifty- i hope you're feeling better today :)

Fmess & Massa & Wit40iwtwan- re sheets. I bought some brushed cotton egyptian things whatsit fancy sheet and they make so much difference! It's so snug and warm in bed! But I'm thinking about upgrading to flannel. Has anyone seen some at an OK price?

applemuncher- i hope work continues to go smoothly for you. Inspectors are never fun!

    Vicky- a cake club? Yummy!

So, had another NSD yesterday, which takes me to 3. A little behind but i hope to make up for it this week.
Not today though. I am off Christmas shopping. I'll probably only be buying 1 thing, and that'll be my sons new phone. I'm not 100% sure which one i am going to buy him, so i will have to have a search around.

I'm also going to have a look around the charity shops. I really want a dress for winter, so hoping to find one for less than £10.

    Have a great Tuesday everyone!
  • Morning all,

Easily got a NSD yesterday thanks to proper planning. Today should be no different. Confident that I'll manage my 5 for this week and looking at my budgeting, I can't really afford otherwise.

Today should be a NSD. I had a little bonus yesterday when I paid for DD's camp at the weekend and it was £5 less than we were originally told.

Went for a run last night and it was pretty cold here, I love running in cold weather so am going to do it again tonight.

I will walk the dog today, catch up with some more cleaning, do some paid work, sort out the laundry which is currently in the drier:eek:, I tried it on the line but it is too cold and still.

I sorted out some board games yesterday and listed them on gumtree, if they don't sell I will Freecycle them, I also sorted out a load of jumpers and cardigans of DD's for listing on ebay in the next couple of days.

    Hello,

NSD here again and HM lunch but will gym a miss as I don't feel great with the cold.

Have a mouse (mice?) in the house again. Was wondering why the cat seems to eat more again (has a bowl of dry food out all the time) but it must be them. Then I put some sweets and a mini bar of chocolate from our stash in my bag, on the kitchen floor, open as usual. Just took the chocolate bar out and found it had been nibbled and there were mouse droppings in my bag. Will check tonight if we still got the traps.

And there is me and the kids going on about Charlie our imaginary mouse when we have a real one :rotfl:

Didn't manage a NSD yesterday as the local pub reopened after a refurbishment and DGD wanted to go and see it. So she had an ice cream and I had a pint of lager!
Oh wellhave to support my local.
    £7.95 spent

  • NSD 7 on the cards today. But ultimately been very very very lazy in the meantime!:rotfl:
