Mothernerd. I hope you are OK. Sending lots of love.
Has anyone contacted social services? If not I think they should be informed, if they are not already aware of the situation. <3 x

Mothernerd – That is really awful even though the child has problems. I'm glad that Beloved has you to take her in and your son to give her support.

Had a much better day today. Had a walk and didn't spend any money. NSD number three. Spent the rest of the day cooking and catching up with washing and general household chores.

Made a long, long list of things that I really need to do this month. Some will only take a few minutes and others quite some time (cleaning the oven. My least favourite job). Really need to get a grip on things. Have let things go over the last few weeks.

Made chicken curry for dinner. After that I'm off to bed. Feeling really, really tired.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Mothernerd how terrifying. Made me think of that film We Need to Talk about Kevin. He kills the little girls pet before his really bad spree begins. The parents sound very misguided.

.....or the RSPCA! What a truly appalling thing to happen. The poor girl. I'm so glad she will be under your roof mothernerd!

I've had a NSD today. Didn't go out at all. Had a blast at my "Clean and Organise Your House in 30 Days" project which I want to finish at the beginning of December just in time before the decorations go up!

Sis and OH came round this afternoon and I met my little nephew for the first time. He is so sweet - full of beans and very articulate for his age. Christmas will be extra nice this year!:)

Sis also gave me back £50 she had borrowed while we were out a while ago. We both totally forgot about it - she has had a lot to think about lately! But it will pay for the cleaning of my carpet next Saturday!:j

Beloved and the chinchillas are here. The handover was amicable, both parents and the youngest sister came (presumably middle sister drew the short straw and stayed home with 'child from hell'). Social services have been involved for the past few years. Beloved's family fostered him and then the mother decided she wanted to adopt despite objections from the social workers who thought he would need lifelong institutional care.

Mother got her way, father is totally disengaged so Beloved gets landed with the child when the mother is not there. DS3 and I think that the social workers were right, the boy is too much work but mother will not admit this. We also think she has totally mishandled the situation. There is a difference between accepting a troubled child into your family and letting the child rule the household to the detriment of the other children and with a total disregard for their safety.

We have 3 chinchillas as the pet shop would only sell a pair, so they are in 2 cages until the older (boy) can be sterilised (the shop had no boys). They can see each other (the boy already spooked one of the girls, the other has not yet emerged from the pet carrier. I have had a little hold of the boy as he is socialised.

DS3 had underestimated the size of Beloved's 'bottom drawer'. The cages for the chinchillas are up, I have given up my wardrobe (turned it round so it's facing their room and I told them to prioritise making up the bed - Beloved has had a long difficult day. Everything else can wait until tomorrow. DS3 bought food for us all. He also told me i 'could have first bath' - basically he put the plug in, turned the hot tap on and then left me to 'mind' it.

I have stacked 2 small chests of drawers and moved a small set of shelves back into my room - I have more storage space and more floor space woohoo. Tomorrow, depending on how much help/ guidance they need, I will go through my drawers and make more space (panda hat and at least one bulky jumper will soon be in constant use).

For now I am warm, clean, well fed and peaceful, satisfied with what I have achieved today (and I wasn't the least bit bothered by what Beloved's parents might think about my house.

I have given in and turned the heating on (going off again very soon). Early for me but it is absolutely blissful - CH at the big house was a bit patchy and when I was in dispute with the energy company I was frightened to put it on.

DS3 and Beloved are fast asleep. Been to look at the chinchillas, third one has emerged but still a bit wary.

I wouldn't be bothered either mothernerd. Given the choice I would rather stay at your house!

Just lost my big post ,so this one is going to be short.

Mothernerd, so glad ds3 and beloved are with you now safe and sound.

Sfd 4/5 as I haven't been out today.

I have had a cleaning fest as I have visitors staying overnight later in week and I'm not going to get chance to do it nearer the date, so will finish that off tomorrow.

Off to make a hot chocolate drink and finish my book off.

A spendy couple of days to report, bought a winter coat and running trainers yesterday (both much needed and budgeted for) and tea out with friends tonight. Was planning to watch the fireworks but it got cancelled due to the weather :( it's horrible out there, very grateful to be curled up in a cosy flat.

Mothernerd, what a terrible situation for all involved! My son (16) has behaviour issues as a result of his disability and it sounds as though the whole situation is being very poorly managed (theirs, not yours).
Glad the pigs and beloved are safe and sound with you.x.

So, my friend hasn't paid me back yet. So i decided to go to a smaller (and free) fireworks display this evening. We sat in the car with some snacks and had a lovely time watching them :) £0 spent :)

I've written a huge list of things to batch cook tomorrow, so that is my plan for tomorrow, as well as giving the house a really good clean and tidy! My washing pile is embarrassingly high.

mothernerd - what an awful situation, hope everyone settles in at yours.

Yesterday did indeed involve spending money. DH wanted beer, kids got some Dr Pepper and I got some sachets of instant mocha - 3 of which were polished off when we got home from our walk. Also filled my car up with LPG for the next couple of weeks.
