*shy wave* I'm still here, just lurking and learning, but would love to join in properly for November, if you'll have me? Need to be very strict with spends as full-on house renovation is starting on 31st October and I'm in charge of the budget
  • Morning all,

Managed another NSD yesterday and since today is an event day, today should be too.

Tomorrow won't. It's payday and I need to buy some Xmas gifts, it'll be a huge weight of my shoulder.

Good morning! Another NSD today. Didn't manage gym yesterday but will go today.

Nearly finished the NOvember thread. I thought I might put it up early and you could have a read through and I'm open to any suggestions of what else to include in the civilian or military challenge? So we can tweak it a bit before we start?

  • Morning all :hello:
Thrifty - thanks for offering to run November - I've already been over and signed up. I can't go too hardcore so will stick with the civilian version for now.
FMess - congratulations on getting below £1000. How is your eye?
I've been a bit AWOL again - apologies. Real life just never seems to give me a break - or should I say that my own mind won't give me a break. Anxiety up and through the roof at the moment, which is exhausting in itself. However, I'm not a quitter and I will keep going for as long as I can.
Welshkitty - sorry about your car. Hope that they can sort it for you.
My car has just been cleaned and checked through on Monday (needed some work doing under the warranty). I feel ready to face the winter months. Car is my only option with a 15 mile commute to work and a bus that takes over an hour to get there.

Will have a read through in a mo, thrifty and comment back later.

Yesterday's big achievement (don't laugh) was a tug of war with a huge bramble branch. Held it firmly in both (safety gloved) hands and walked steadily towards the bin (about 20 feet). Was hoping to work out where i could cut it off, but it surrendered and followed me, trailing 3 remnants of plastic bags.

Today's big achievement (massive ferret dance) - after midnight I finally cleared my bed (shifted the quilt and pillows, mad a big pile of 'crafts' and another of 'paperwork', then got fed up and put all the rest (notebooks and assorted miscellania including a single Allen key, the thing you use to bleed the radiators and numerous embroidery threads) into a bag.

DS3 turned the mattress, then I made up the bed with clean sheets and pillowcases, quilt and cover (not yet together - may need to research the 'poorlie' method of rolling them together). The only things in my bed last night were me, the bedding and the book I was reading. Currently joined by laptop, folding table and breakfast banana but bananna will disappear and the others have 'homes'.

I woke before the alarm and have had a bath and washed my hair. I may need a nap later but feel so good. I promise not to go haring about and make myself ill again.

    Hugs ccl.

For yesterday I am grateful for glorious weather, for feeling better and easy food - cooked a trayful of chops on Sunday night and DS3 gave me some of his pizza.

  • Hi turtles!

Aiming for a NSD today. DD has gone to be a rally driver for the day  , so I am home with DS. We have already baked some cookies and am thinking of something to do this afternoon that will keep his screen time down.

Small sale this morning leaving £4.78 profit after postage so have paid this straight off the cc. Every little helps!

seasidegal - I cycle a lot and grown adults cycling on pavements really, really bug me, what are they like 10.
I'm terrified of cycling on the roads, I usually cycle on my early shifts when there isn't too much traffic going in. Coming home though I do cycle more on the pavement, but it is quite wide and I slow down.

Apologies been so busy chasing my own tail. End of financial year in work, together with being a rock chick and not getting into my bed until 2am Monday night and have another gig on Thursday, so maybe later as opted for train home then. Had a lovely weekend, lots of birthday meals, out, not been home at all. Got day off Friday to take gs to Halloween event. I will be so bedraggled by then won't need a costume.

Not sure where I am up to with this challenge either 12/13 SFD. Feeling dizzy today woke late up with 15 mins to get to work, not best start.

Will read up later but apologise for not being fully switched on this month.

    Welcome Dizzy Imp.

I've had a brilliant day although did spend some money (£1 on bus hop and 20p on toast - supporting my counselling place canteen). Had planned to take sandwich buns but had them when I came home instead. The bus hop and switching sides of the road at the first pelican crossing meant I avoided the temptation of the gorgeous little bakers (very traditional but everything baked on the premises) which would have cost a lot more.

Crafts was fun. I helped the blind girl (seems rude to keep referring to her that way but don't want to use RL identifiers). She's lovely, extremely capable and there is far more to her than just being blind. Then I took pity on the organiser who had been given the job of making 40 party toppers for their Halloween event. I cut at least 6 each of tiny cats, bats, ghosts and pumpkins and put eyes on them all.

Put books in the bag to take to the library and also wanted to go to the market for sewing and embroidery thread (only one shade of each) but had a nap instead. Don't think I will be awake for long. Washing has been put out, dried and brought in (important but that and coming on here made me late going out).

Counsellor noticed how 'perky' I was - I just feel so well after feeling so ill. I am aware of the underlying weakness so need to keep balancing getting things done and continuing to improve (more walking etc) with getting sufficient rest and not taking on too much. Doing well atm but counsellor thinks the beginning of the year and 'moving mum' (5 weeks of whirlwind activity when I thought about little else) severely depleted my reserves. Came with lots of stress as well. Deep breath, happy thoughts.

Today I am grateful for clean bedding, that the threatened rain did not come until late in the day and for good gentle companionship. Cautious ferret victory dnce.
