Little turtle is raging inside. DH was off with sick DS today. Positives, he made dinner, did the washing and the dishes. Negatives, he spent. Two homemaking beer kits, a dvd, and a snow boarding jacket and drinks. Oh it was half price (the jacket was still 150!!) and I will never really have money for it so i bought it. Aaarghh, really? He just complained about the car service that was 280 instead of 150. I was lost for words. Still am.

I know we still have several days of ferret-finding, but I wanted to thank mothernerd for the challenge. I know I have only posted infrequently, but have kept reading what you are all up to.

Thank you especially for the focus on getting enough sleep and daylight, and being grateful, and doing victory dances. They have really helped me through the month.

I have enjoyed my first challenge, even though I have completely lost track of all the aims, and reported back only irregularly :) I think I have made my nsd's, but that is because I cheated and my parents paid for everything the last fortnight, while they are staying at my place.
I have cycled dds everywhere in the village, apart from one rainy day. I have been outside and in my garden as much as I could; I have danced little dances most days.

Oh thrifty big hugs. They really are from another planet, aren't they (apologies to Speky and other male turtles).

I have been out again today, £1 bus hop each way (legs still abit wobbly) but travelled back as far as the bus station and went to the market for the thread I needed. Tried to pick up a few things I need but forgot to buy toothbrushes, so had to go out again later. Have walked quite a bit with frequent pauses (lots of benches in the Town Centre).

Was too tired to go to see mum (would have needed a taxi each way), so I phoned her and she will be out tomorrow - the problems with her eye have reoccurred and she has been to the main hospital (8 miles away) four times in the last week.

Today I am grateful for walking more, for the benches and other places I stopped to rest and for being able to look at clothes without wanting to spend money. I am going to start a list of things I need for when mum gives me my Christmas money.

  • Hi turtles!

Quick check in to report a NSD today. Also got my car back. It's still not perfect, but is in much better condition than it was and I'm glad to have it back.

DS and I had a lovely autumnal work this morning trying to catch falling leaves. Ds had his usual swimming lesson and I have also managed a NSD.

We did have a bit of drama this lunchtime when one of the window cleaners fell off his ladder in our garden and I had to call an ambulance!

  • I'm terrified of cycling on the roads, I usually cycle on my early shifts when there isn't too much traffic going in. Coming home though I do cycle more on the pavement, but it is quite wide and I slow down.

I can sympathise with you x_ raphael. My rant was mainly directed at those bad mannered cyclists ( who are nearly always young, fit men!) who zoom down the narrow pavement in my street with no thought of anyone but themselves!

I had a NSD yesterday, apart from things that were in the budget categories of my YNAB, but today went a bit pear-shaped as a good friend and ex-work colleague phoned me as she was in the City at lunchtime and wanted to meet up. She works in the West End and I don't get to see her that often anymore so bite to eat and coffee - £10.65!

Echoing thanks to mothernerd for running the challenge this month - and doing such a great job while she's been so poorly. :A

xspender was the window cleaner ok?

    thrifty grrrrr to OH

Yesterday was spendy as my friend wanted to go out. Spent £17 on dinner and £2 on gf crumpets which I've not seen before. Had a nightmare journey home as they closed the road I needed (it's usually an hour drive) and then I got lost on the diversion route. Eventually got home about an hour and a half later.
