What small DFW things will you do this week - 26th Septemeber

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning all!
New week, new start, so anyone who was spendy last week can pull it back this week. On today's list:
*Laundry done overnight on cheap tariff. Will try to peg it out between rain showers. Set timer again for another load tonight.
*Write letter using stuff from my recycled stationery box. Had a stamp already. Done.
*Rubber pork. Hoping enough for a further 2 days of meals.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch & packed breakfast.
*Sort through tray of ripening tomatoes. Put remaining green ones in paper bag to hasten ripening. Skin, de-deed, chop & freeze red ones as basis for a slow cooker chilli next week.
*Make apple sauce with windfalls & hope it might just fit in the freezer.
*Check over & polish a selection of hand crafted items ready to send for my sister's craft stall.
*Knit Christmas presents. 1st sock of B-in-law's pair finished last night. 2nd one cast on & ribbing done.
*Use-it-up items. Yoghurt on last date. Ate it for breakfast. Milk one day out of date but smells & tastes perfectly fine so will continue to use.
*Take a few cuttings. Free plants if they root (seen for £5.99 each at garden centre on Sat so defo worth a go!)
Need to get moving now. Still not rsining so off to peg out the laundry.
Have a good week all.....& keep your mitts on your money.

Morning all
Thanks for starting us off PFHope the commute goes well - I don't miss mine!
Spendy start to the day as I have just taxed my car online. Did it for 12 months as that is cheaper than the 6 monthly option. I know I am lucky to be able to do this, I have certainly not always been able to - but budgeting is key!
Other things so far today:
Used up a very ripe banana for breakfast
Stopped Thursday delivery of milk for now, as we are not using it as quickly atm for some reason. I can always restart it if needed, but we can make do with just a Monday delivery for now.
Still to do:
Housework
Take new stock to sales unit, will need to drive due to boxes!
Bit of shopping while out - I have a small list!
Also drop off strawberry plants for DD while out - making full use of the car / fuel
HM meals - we will have some of the beef casserole I made yesterday for dinner, bits from fridge for lunch
Check banks
Check for surveys
RM surveys tasks
Make appointment at surgery for flu injection - I get this free due to being asthmatic, so might as well take advantage!
Pick raspberries, courgettes, French beans, spring onions
Some gardening if weather is kind, though the forecast is not very good
Walk dog later (OH can do the early shift - come to think of it, he can help with the housework too!)
Hope for some ebay sales - only sold one item over the weekend
Hope everyone has a good day0 -

This goes with so much in life! Last week I really didn't eat very healthily, lots of chocolate & crisps & cakes& being so titchy (5 foot!) I put weight on very easily and my jeans felt a little snug yesterday. But I just think this week I'll make an effort to healthy and eat fruit for snacks and I'll be fine by the end of the week. I used to get so hung up about lots of stuff and think that everything was life or death. So glad this last year has given me a healthier outlook on life

Thanks for the reminder Dawn! I need to book in madam's injection. Anyone considering this? I don't want her to feel poorly and miserable after having the injection but equally I don't want her to get flu!DF as at 30/12/16

I would give a "no" in reply to that.
"The new study found that the vaccine is protecting just 3.4 per cent of people from flu. Those who were vaccinated were slightly more likely to get the most common A(H3N2) strain that those who did not have the jab. Officials said the statistic meant the jab did not protect them against the strain at all, but did not mean the vaccination could increase the chance of flu" (Read more)Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0
