  • Hi guys! Amazeballs Specky! feels good don't it??? Don't leave just cos yourp now df, loads of us on here have reached df status (some of us got back into debt 2 years later though! Actually it was a family loan, no interest to help with our house deposit/funds for renovations so not going to put in the embarrassed smilie!)

Jeeps what a day! Today frst day at work this week and I was *supposed* to be leaving at 7.30. Oh woke me up at 7.10  needless to say I didn't leave at 7.30....

    Today:

    * all meals from stores - lunch made and (free) apples & carrot sticks for snacks
    * spent 59p - need to update spending diary...
    * got bought a cappuccino at c0stalot by my boss :D also ate a few h4rribos & a quality street lurking around at the office :p
    * took a note of mileage but as it's probably worth 50p to claim it back I don't think I'll bother...
    * need to get all clothes/bags/lunches ready for the morning as have to leave at 4.30am
    * bath & pamper once madam goes to bed
    * check weather forecast to decide whether to hang up washing inside or peg it out... Done going to peg it out now!

    That's it! Have a lovely evening x

    Morning everyone,

I'm shouting it from the rooftops - today I'm officially debt free!!!! I will continue in my tradition to be frugal in an attempt to save for a deposit next year, so although my list isn't specifically DFW, it's still kind of relevant.

Dawn - I don't mind being woken up early as it allows me to be productive, however without electricity I'd be lost!

Congratulations Speky :T Hope you stay with us!

Managed without the electricity all day, due to being out most of the morning, and having a gas hob to boil up a kettle for cuppas! Missed the broadband, but nothing else really!

Well I've been a bit quiet on the forum this week, a bit tired and feeling sorry for myself, need to pick myself up. Find it so hard to be good when I feel like this.
Well done CCL on the cheque what a lovely surprise.
Bob the most important thing is yours and your families health focus on that and everything else comes second. Lego peppermint creams, yum, that reminds me of my childhood. Speky well done on the CC when you get there. Foxglove your so organised.

    - sold 6 books of Facebook but really annoyed that all the people who have bought them have no transport! So they are asking me to drop off, meet them or pass on to relatives! Oh sold a cake mould too and been asked to drop it into a shop to a friend of a friend to pass on. I'm thinking eBay is easier. If I achieve these complicated arrangements I'll make £15 in total!
    - postcode lottery
    - ipoll
    - have a bid on an eBay item of £5 but looks like that will sell. Nearly gave up on this item, glad a stuck with it now.
    - Got an MR tomorrow
    - Will check banking tomorrow.
    - Will try and declutter spare room tomorrow and organise my eBay sales and Christmas stash better.
    - Food shopping so will do Home Bargains, Aldi and Morrisons
    - Have a jar of pesto to return to Morrisons and 2 things to poundland for refund
    - Will check MR apps
    - Entered a couple of comps
    - Feeling fed up this morning, didn't take lunch, but found some food leftover from a meeting. A bit dry, but saved me from buying!
    - Wombled some old packaging materials from work
    - Wombled costa receipts

Worn out as I type...hoping for a restful night, wishing everyone sweet dreams.

  • Morning everyone

Team day at work today meaning free breakfast and lunch. :D

Then I need to check my pay slip and smile like a maniac at the last ever student loan deduction! :T

I have budgeted for October - tight as usual... :(

Need to get OH to YNAB as I'm sure his accounts aren't right - most important before a new month tomorrow :naughty:

Night in tonight - net flix and some nice food.

Got the 3 for £10 deal in M&S - whole chicken, seabass fillets and lamb leg steaks - thought that was ace personally as the seabass fillets were £5.50 on their own. :D

Got another good deal on a reusable coffee cup at services... - cup was £6 and came with a free voucher for a hot drink, which was £3!. Great buy as we were going to get a drink anyway y'see ;)

    Right, I'm offski.

    Happy Friday everyone

Congratulations, Spekysquarehead! It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it? We became debt-free in 2011 & I loved it. We do have a modest loan at the moment as we knew we'd need to borrow when we needed to replace our car. However, it was planned debt this time & we are planning to make a series of large part payments to reduce the duration of the loan considerably. Already got over £1400 towards the 1st part payment.
Enjoy every bit of being debt-free. It's a great feeling!

    Morning Campers,
Nice autumn sunshine here so I am ready to get started on my day:
*Clean house using minimal products & washable cloths.
*Finish planting up my patio containers which were very low-spend & have a thorough sweep up.....(free exercise).
*Start potting up geraniums for bringing indoors when the weather turns (so they survive to fill next summer's tubs).
*Write shopping list......didn't do yesterday as decided to shop tomorrow instead of today.
*Check a chutney & brown sauce recipe to see if I need to buy any ingredients as we have a huge crop of apples.
*Finished B-in-law's Christmas present socks last night & secretly cast on another pair for mr f. Mum gave me the sock yarn (lovely self-patterning shades of blues/purples, etc) so a free present.
*Might get round to a bit more decluttering later as I have the last few bits leftover from years ago when I used to do craft fairs, & intend to donate to charity shop.
*Do 3 annoying jobs from list.
*Attempt to mend my walking boots. I have some Fantastic Elastic which has been successfully used on 2 other tricky repairs, so fingers crossed they will last a bit longer yet (though to be fair, they are 16 years old & well-used).
    OK.......must get cracking.
Keep your hands on your pence, Frugal Friends.

    I've a busy day and evening so I can't have a productive one;

    - Check banks and YNAB
    - Pay off CC - DONE!!!
    - Call in a favour to collect me tonight from a boxing event and save £20 on a taxi
    - Have a productive day
    - Drink plenty water
    - Meal plan for next week (including a bake)

That'll do me for now. Have a good day everyone.

Well done!!! You must feel so happy, it must be a weight off your shoulders
