  • Morning chums,

Thank you all for your well done messages. Indeed it is a huge weight off my shoulders and I don't intent to take the burden on again. Your daily tips and tricks on your list has provided me with constant inspiration, so thank you.

    My list for today;

    - Check banks and YNAB
    - Drink plenty water
    - Exercise (doubtful)
    - Have a Low Spend Day
    - Iron and put on fresh bed linen

Short one from me as I'll no doubt be relaxing with the GF tonight and taking it easy.

    Have a good day everyone.
  • Afternoon Frugal Pals :D

    It's Friday :j:j

Hope everyone is well, great news Speky, hope you're feeling better Bob & Lucky Penny

    List for today:
checked banking, updated sheet, checked surveys and FPL
Met friend for breakfast, she paid as she owed me for something I had bought :D
Working this afternoon, meeting a friend from work for a work meeting but good way to spend Friday afternoon :)
    Tea from stores, probably leftovers
2 loads of washing on line, hopefully will dry as its blowy here
    DH cleaned bathroom
Paid lady for holiday from holiday piggy for first time :D
Must, must list some items on fleabay
Frozen jackets out for DH and DD lunch

Right off to do half an hours work before I go out
  • Hi guys :) whoop it is officially the weekend for me, finished work at 12.30 :D however I was up at 3.30 to be out of the house for 4.30 as was shadowing a rough sleep outreach worker. Very humbling experience, not sure I could take the emotional impact of seeing how difficult things are for these people every day :( take my hat off to the people doing this work and the worker looks like he can fund a deposit for someone who has found a room :A

Anyway KNACKERED! Considering whether it's worth having a nap or to just power through??

Lucky penny sorry to hear you are feeling down this week x

    What have I done today?

    * got paid at 2nd job :D means car & bike repairs can be covered without dipping into my savings :D
    * all meals from stores
    * took breakfast and lo lamb stew & foraged apples for lunch
    * got given 4 delicious apples by a colleague who is an allotmenteer :)
    * took travel mug for coffee on way
    * did treat us to a bottle of wine for tonight - thought it was about time I returned the favour to oh!
    * checked banking
    * washing out online

Think this evening it will be games and sticker book with madam, few glasses of wine and maybe scrabble with oh and a fairly early night

Morning PF & legomum! Happy birthday weekend legoson :) sounds like a lovely weekend you've got planned! I'm all about the apples today as well legomum :D oh is out on some micro pub crawl around kent today....

Yay to the weekend :j been to the allotment today and picked 500grms runner beans which I will chop and freeze (I don't blanch as we will eat them before xmas) and nearly 3 kilos of apples. Some were windfall so will be making cider vinegar with them ;), some are for eating & some will be made into a apple crumble

Contact with dd today at the local soft play. She is getting dgd lunch so I'll just have soup when we get back.

Have checked banking & paid my part of the cc bill. Updated s/s so it's all in line :D received £8 interest yesterday :D

All meals from stores - chicken breasts and 1/2 jar of pesto (frozen last time we had it ;)) out for pesto pasta tonight. will use all home grown veg with this :money: raspberry muffin out of freezer for madam later. Gammon joint out of freezer for tomorrow

usual weekend clean through - super speedy hour!

Washing in machine at moment & will put out before going out

sharing bath water with madam 2 baths out of 1 lot of water ;)

games, books & toys with madam this afternoon. Might even throw in a painting session if I can face it!

Tonight I am either going to get the sewing machine out - I want to make a tote bag for my work things & have some lo fabric or I will make another attempt at knitting socks...

Think that's it. Need to be really careful over the coming weeks with just frittering cash away. Before my next payday I have arranged to go out for a meal with 2 friend's (think I will have a bowl of soup before I go out so I only have a light meal ;)), go to the spa with my bff, drinks one evening with another friend & hoping to meet my sil on Monday for a glass of wine and a catch up so really that all leaves me about £12 left of my spending money before the 25th!

Ok gonna go and get on with the day! x

yesterday getting up at 3.30am destroyed me! I had a nap 4-5 but really from about 3pm I was no good to anybody! Luckily oh went out for drinks with friends so I just laid on the sofa drifting in and out of consciousness :o

    Afternoon all :)
It was pouring with rain when I got up, and has rained all morning, stopped just over an hour ago. Still, the garden needed it! Not sure it needs any more though :p

    So far today:
Pup's first walk of the day, delayed till rain stopped, walked to the post office to post some RM surveys stuff that could have gone in the post box across the road, but it is a really small one, and the jiffy bag wouldn't fit in :(
Rearranged / decluttered the kitchen a bit to free up some space :D
Cleaned the top of the fridge freezer
Made sauce from a batch of tomatoes that needed dealing with - we will have this tonight with pasta :)
Cooked some not very nice eating apples gifted by a neighbour with some of our HG raspberries to make a filling for a pie or crumble - I will probably freeze this, will see! Haven't frozen it, it made a quite nice compote, so it will do for my breakfasts for the week, with yogurt and porrdge :)
Courgette and stilton soup from freezer for lunch, with the last of the oldest bread, toasted :)
Sold an ebay item, the first for October :)
    Listed several more things :)

    Still to do:
Bit of shopping CBA, so will do tomorrow - means I have scored a NSD :D
Pick up some free cardboard boxes for ebay packing while at Mr S :)
Go through fridge and see what needs using up or freezing Done
Bit of paperwork for business Oops must do this!
If the rain holds off, apply nematode stuff to my garden pots (I have quite a lot of these!) to kill any vine weevils  Done, during gaps in rain / only slight rain. My neighbours now have confirmed their suspicion that I am bonkers, from the sight of me standing out in the rain wielding a watering can :rotfl:
Pick French beans, courgettes and raspberries, see if last 2 cucumbers are ready, possibly pick some more rhubarb as well - in theory you shouldn't pick it this late, but mine goes absolutely mad if I don't keep it under control. Only managed beans and courgettes due to rain!
Harvest rest of chillis, the red and yellow conical ones :)Not done :(
Made a strange but tasty concoction for dinner, consisting of vaguely bendy veg from the fridge, carrots, a bit of broccoli, a courgette, the tomato sauce I made this morning, 2 leftover sausages and some pasta :D
Had this with French beans on the side, so definitely had our 5 a day today :rotfl:
Got a pork joint out for tomorrow, as DD and GD are coming for dinner. There will be plenty left over for other days for OH and I :)
    That should keep me busy!

    Hi everyone

Sounds like you are having good weekends so far.

Thanks PurpleFairy - alas I called the student loans peeps and they said next month's payment may still come out so I will then need to call back and start the refund process. Nothing is ever easy but I guess it's one of the nicer problems to have :D

Legomum - your DS will have a cracking bday :T

I need to do the usual Saturday tasks for me - cleaning, tidying, laundry... but I'm just chilling out for a while first with you lot, YNAB and then my free kindle book - that is the life! :D

Got a whole chicken I will slow cook to have with potatoes and veg and then it will do tomorrow too. It's just a small one - says serves 2-3 but it can easily do 4 meals or maybe even 6. ;) We've got baked figs for dessert. mmmm

Night in tonight - bought a bottle of wine from HBargains - was a total bargain - good one at £3.99 so happy with that as that is the price of one drink out.

OH is working today so happy about that too...

Need to decide whether to take the dog out with friends tomorrow. Stressing me out. :( They are a bit obsessed about us meeting up with them and their new dog (sounds good in principle) but I can just imagine it being more hassle than it's worth if the dogs don't get on etc. And they always keep their dog on a lead but mine is much better off lead... I have been honest with her so maybe we should just go somewhere close to home and if it doesn't work out then we can just turn back... :o
