Thanks for the recipes for the tortillas Bugs, I did have a good one but lost it and couldn't remember the quantities, so thanks for this one. It'll save me a fortune at £1 per six tortillas, no additives too.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. O.k sorry to say this but the after effects of tonights tea is not good
My oh has got the most awful loud and very smelly wind and I'm sure it's the after effects:o
Might have to limit this meal to once every few months cos I don't think I can take much more of this.
Pass me a gas mask someone quick:eek:0 -
Smiley_Mum, foreverskint and Oscar, you're welcome to the recipe, hope you enjoy making it.
We used up the remaining half-maize/half-wheat tortillas for lunch on Saturday, my OH broke up one and cooked it in the same pan as his bacon and tells me it was very nice, like tortilla chips. We have fried the all-maize tortillas before, and they're nice but tend to be just a bit too much hard work for the teeth. So that's worth an experiment, if you have some left over tortillas - not even any need for a deep fat fryer.0 -
I used to buy the kit things with stuff in but they only come with the seasoning, salsa and tortillas and they are a complete rip-off.
I can make everything except the seasoning for loads cheaper, does anyone know whether you can buy the seasoning separately or how to make your own?
Thanks in advance0 -
I make my own as follows:
l
cook onions in a bit of olive oil and a bit of salt. Add 100ml freshly squeezed lime juice, a crushed veg oxo cube and a crushed chicken oxo cube. Lots of freshly ground pepper and half a teaspoon of lazy chillis. Add the chicken and the peppers. Cook.
If the taste is too strong for you, substitute some of the lime juice for water.Good, clean fun....MFW #11 2015 £7657 / £88800 -

i use the small jars that you get at the smarket, the brand ones are schwarz but most smarkets do there own. we use cajun, chinese 5spice, chicken seasoning etc. theyre about £1 tops and they last AGES. then u can also use them for other dishes.
you can buy the fajita mix but its about 70p and you only get one use out of it0
