Nenen... I assume the hotels you are talking about are in the USA or Canada? If not then the free night guarantee for hotels in the UK with Ramada has been replaced with one where they will match the cheapest rate that you find... as per the info in GlenntheBaker's post here:

    HTH? :D

Oh Blast! I missed that... thank you so much for the info though.

  • Days Inn in the UK still have the best rate guarantee or get the first night free if that is any help... the comparison site would have to have availability for Days Inn to uphold the free night though... Good Luck searching!! :D

    I'm amazed that:

    (a) nobody's mentioned this; and
    (b) Ramada haven't noticed this

But most of the rate "differences" quoted for Ramada hotels are not differences at all - they are simply because Expedia is quoting a rate excluding VAT whilst Ramada are quoting once including VAT.You will notice that most of the "differences" quoted are 17.5%.
  • MarkyMarkD... a. As far as I am aware the uk version of the Expedia website includes VAT, but willing to be proven wrong...

    b. If this was indeed the case I am sure Ramada would have noticed as they tried every other trick to try and squirm out of honouring the claims, as you can tell by looking through this lengthy thread!!

I do know that as soon as Ramada started to get the claims coming in Expedia swiftly increased their prices !!

It's now over 2 months since red breast promised my refund for my stay at Chester, and after a string of broken promises and a cheque sent to me in a humourous variation on my real name I still haven't had my money back and all my e-mails to red breast and the commercial director of Ramada Jarvis UK are now being ignored.

Here we go again... how tedious and boring this is getting... it's time for another court claim against this bunch of useless halfwits, which I am guaranteed to win given the fact I've had about 7 e-mails off them admitting liability.

I've already sued them once and they immediately caved in; you'd think by now they'd have grasped the idea that they'd save themselves a load of paperwork and hassle (and the court fee) by just paying in the first place. But they still haven't learned their lesson. *sigh*. Do Northampton County Court do a loyalty card scheme, I wonder?
  • days inn luton - useless. luton girls didnt know what a best rate guarantee was, told me the booking i cancelled was valid (just waiting for a nights charge to appear), i was told breakfast not included, apart from that, just watching the credit card bill now as they tried to charge me at checkout,

vanilla, watch they dont put you in a room overlooking the disco and garden. i requested another room straightaway. i can recommend the belvedere arms which is down the road from them
  • I've just checked my Quidco account and I see that the £14.50 that was 'Tracked', and then 'Validated' for the booking I made as per THIS post, is now showing as 'Received'! I may have been unsuccessful with the Best Rate Guarantee on this occasion but at least I got some dosh out of it!

Quick update: I've eventually had my free night application approved for the Days Inn Hyde Park for 11th November, having spotted it a couple of pounds cheaper at priceline.co.uk (and allinlondon.co.uk and laterooms.com).

It wasn't straightforward but after a weeks worth of emails we got there in the end. We can now look forward to Ramada Hyde Park on 10th followed by Days Inn Hyde Park on 11th and a concert at The Albert Hall in between!

The only problem is they've now increased the rates again and all the sites I've checked before posting this seem to match the Days Inn rates. I'll keep looking and will post back if I spot anything, but the 3 sites mentioned above may be worth keeping an eye on.

If anybody does manage to spot a potential claim, the screenshot of the final "payment confirmation" page from the cheaper site seemed to be the crucial evidence they need.

    Good luck!
