Do a search on www.google.ca for hotel/ travel sites, selecting the 'pages from Canada' option.

(Thought I was just making up the web address, but it does exist!)
    Gone ... or have I?
  • Thank you dmg24... why didn't I think of that... doh! :o

  • Could someone double check this one for me, I think I've found one for the Westminister Days Inn.

Check in: Saturday 2nd February 2008
Check out: Sunday 3rd February 2008

Seemed I would have to order a triple as that's what Days Inn were offering for 2 adults. Price I got from DI was £115 but I seemed to get a triple room https://www.hotelclub.net/ for £109. Think I might give it a try! If anyone can see something that I'm missing then could you let me know thanks :)
  • Actually.....

Do you think the fact that Hotel Club says that booking request for that particular type of room will be responded within 48hrs and not instantly may impede the claim?

A cast iron certainty, I would say.

  • ramada has certainly cottoned on, iv been looking for a hotel room in the midlands (birmingham and closeby) over the 19/20 April 2008 weekend period and i cant find anywhere, all prices from pricecomparison sites for the hotel are the same or more expensive than the ramada.com price.
  • i think ramada are not offering this to uk dwellers anymore.

Quick update on our freeby stays:

Ramada Hyde Park (was booked months ago when the offer applied to Ramada hotels); hotel was in a great location and was excellent. No problems with check in, and they even changed our twin room to a double and let us check in a couple of hours early. Room was smallish but absolutely fine. Anyone who's still got a freeby lined up here should have no problems.

Days Inn Hyde Park; a much smaller scale hotel but again in a good location. Staff were very friendly but we were initially given a room in the basement which was seriously the TINIEST room I have ever seen and had a double and single bed in there. Asked if we could change rooms and they very happily gave us a different one which again was very small but fine for an overnight stay. I have to say everything was absolutely spotless and gleaming, and the included breakfast was far better than expected.

The only thing to watch out for is that we were charged local taxes which amounted to £20; we queried it, and they rang head office but confirmed it had to be paid. (Have checked it since with the red breasted one who confirmed it was payable). It's the only time we've been charged taxes, but given we'd had a free weekend in London we certainly didn't feel it was worth arguing over and spoiling our stay. There was no unpleasantness from any of the staff and they willingly checked it when we queried it.

Just might be worth bearing in mind if you've got a Days in freeby booked.

    Hope that helps.
