Morning people!!
Couple of positives today!
I finally did the paperwork for reclaiming the PDLs so it's just a waiting game now, a long one apparently.
Also. I've set up an appointment to top up my credit union loan to pay a chunk off my credit card. It's very very low interest, whereas the cc is very high (credit rating not good enough to interest free balance transfer) so this time next week I can make an adjustment to my signature to about £400. Which is a big difference to me!
Have a good day everyone. Ooo I ought to set some goals! Hmm ring Sky and British Gas.0 -
Hello all,
Well we finally got married on Saturday. It was the most perfect day, even the weather didn't spoil it (rained all day apart from a brief bit of sun when we had our photos taken)! Everything was saved for and paid for, I even had lovely comments about my homemade table decorations using jam jars! Also had lovely comments about my off the peg dress from John Lewis for less than £400 (which I'm now going to sell!). The thing that made it for us was having our family and friends all together with us. That would have be the same if we were millionaires or struggling.
We're on honeymoon in a cottage in East Sussex at the minute. What a lovely part of the country! Today will even be a NSD as we got stuff yesterday to do a BBQ and are having a chilled out day in the garden.
We were very lucky to have been given some money which will go in our mortgage savings pot. Can't wait to get a new spreadsheet on the go when we get home! I'm also looking forward to getting back on the moneysaving bandwagon so will be visiting Aldi with a list on Saturday. We have a friend's birthday in Newquay and a trip to Whitby coming up between now and Christmas so we need to watch the pennies. This weekend has really taught me that it's people and love that matter in life, not possessions and 'things'.
This forum really helped motivate me to clear my debts and be of the mindset that we didn't want to be in debt after our wedding, so thank you all for your daily inspiration :A

Got long lists Determined new MS and Lego Mum! Go debt free!
Think I need to take a leaf out of Lego Mum's book and get exercising. What gym do you go to for £4 per week? Is it a council run thing? Off peak? £17 per month doesn't sound too bad. I've looked at Nuffield Health but they are probably double that cost.
Done no money saving today! Went the docs and needed to increase my dose :-(
Aaah I might look a RM surveys - Thanks LECompetition wins £14,136.30[\COLOR]0 -
Congratulations Princess Pea - so pleased that you had a wonderful day. It is all about the people, not the money. I couldn't agree more. Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon.
I'm struggling at work this week. First week back blues and really high temperatures in the classroom that I just can't do anything about at all. Finally managed to get a fan today, which stirs the hot air around the classroom a bit...
Other things I've done today include -
:cheesy: checked banking and PAD
:cheesy: load of washing done and out on the line to dry before work
:cheesy: packed lunches for me and ds
:cheesy: small top up shop in Aldee - made a list and stuck to it
:cheesy: made good use of my free time at work
:cheesy: just about to catch up on here, followed by knitting and crochet
:cheesy: exercise for health
Hope everyone is doing ok.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control
