Hey all, slowly catching up on life and hope you're all good?

A few MSE things I've done today and I'm sure a few to do.

Checked banking and used all spare money to pay to CC (now 0% balance only left)
Cancelled amazon prime I think DD activated it on my account to get something and I've been meaning to do it for ages. Like I buy much anyway. So not worth it.
Batch cooking and meal planned for the week. Must whizz up some courgette and basil soup later.
Need pick fruit and tatties for tea.
Cleaned fridge out and put some stuff in the freezer
HM meals and from the stores
Fed the hens scraps from veg left over
    Washing out on the line
Using up old containers for lunches.
Written a small shopping list will get something when out walking mutts.

    Have a good one :)

Ooh this has just reminded me to do a balance transfer as my 0% runs out. Totally slipped my mind after being ill this week.

Been ill this week but on the positive side this has increased my NSD's to 5 this week.
    - postcode lottery
    - sold 2 flebay and 3 faceache items
    - sampled a new product
    - 1 market research
    - cash back for take away (after feeling throughly depressed after holiday and feeling ill)
    - Wombled c0sta points
    - went to H0me bargains, Aldi, B&M and Morrisons to get the best deals
    - earned a £5 voucher with Morrybogs points
    - entered loads of comps on my sick bed
    - got my first Christmas present which had 70% off in a sale
    - invited for a free meal next week at a restaurant opening

Think they are the main things really surprised since I've been ill. Just found out I might inherit £3k this year, sad that my MIL's friend died, the money will pay off some of my car loan.

  • I've not done much today but I did pick a handful of lovely tomatoes from my plants. They had all suddenly ripened at once so having to eat them before they go off. Looking forward to loads more to come.

Did some batch cooking for freezing.

Thanks all, sorry I've been MIA, we've been spending a lot of time working out how much this little London jaunt would cost us  Going to have lunch with the family and talk out all the options and decide if we will go. I would love to take him but I just don't know if its practical. Feeling a bit torn.
    Mse wise,
    * We've eaten from stores inc using up all salad veggies etc
    * Breakfast was ys crumpets
    * Watched both Charlie & the chocolate factory & Willy Wonka & the chocolate factory with the kids today, reminding them of it before they get dressed up for Roald Dahl day at school.
    * Checked luckyphone/numberplate/ashliegh etc
    * Niece is staying over so stretched the planned tea for the ds's to fill her too, which some extra fruit to pad it out.
    * Time for Netflix and a cuppa and then bed :)

    Nos da all.

I've never used them myself but our Finance Manager at work swears by Grand Central trains to get to London cheaply.

  • Morning all :hello:

Long, tiring day yesterday volunteering but shifted fair amount of stuff so I am pleased. Need to sort through the rest. Some will go on fleabay a couple of times and some will go to charity shop and some will be saved for next time.

    List for today:

Sort out stuff from yesterday, some back in loft
List a few bits on selling pages/fleabay
Check for surveys, managed a coupe, yesterday do feedback on a couple of products
Meal plan for week, will need to pop to shop for a handful of things
Washing drying outside, another load in to catch up whilst weather is set fair
Get ready for week ahead, do pack lunches for tomorrow
Message someone about popping by her workshop tomorrow to get some handmade Christmas gifts

    Enjoy your Sunday folks.
  • Good afternoon everyone
Well, I'm still a bit non stop with everything. I can't believe it's quarter past two and I'm only just sitting down for the first time today.
I have been tutoring (took me ages to get there because of great North Run traffic) and bought a few freezer essentials. I seem to have lost my mojo for cooking and food prep again so I've stocked up on bargain basement frozen veg so that the very least I can do is a stir fry. I just feel exhausted.
Other than that, I've tried (and failed) to make the house look tidier, got some washing done and line dried and been through all the budgets again. Think I just need to plod on with a bit of knitting or crochet for my handmade Christmas - time is suddenly looking quite short for me considering how many things I want to make...
  • This week has just flown by.

Dd & OH have made crumpets this weekend, I can't believe how easy they are and utterly delicious. Those we didn't eat on day one we toasted for snack time this morning, yummy.

Dinner today is going to be HM pizza, to use up some of the bits and pieces in the fridge as well as some HM tom sauce from the freezer. It will be served with HM coleslaw and salad.

We have been trying to sort out the meal plan for this week, Monday - Thursday are sorted mainly using up ingredients from the freezer but for Friday, Saturday, Sunday we are finding difficult as it will depend what the weather is like as to if cottage pie and similar are suitable or lighter food.

As you can probably tell we are on a mission to clear our freezers as they both need defrosting. The sooner we can do this the better as they will run more efficiently if they are not full of ice. In the process we should save a bit on the grocery budget whilst we try and reduce the freezer stocks.

In a few minutes me and dd are going out with my niece and my sister to a place where once a month they hold a family activity session and at the end the children have an hour on the soft play whilst the adults get to have a cake and coffee/tea/hot chocolate and a catch up the children also get a snack and a drink, amazingly it is all free :money:

    Today I have:
    Renewed library books
Turned of all lights and appliances not in use
    Didn't wash my hair
Dried 2 loads of washing in the sunshine, 3 rd load going out now and that is likely to dry
    Meal plan
    Updated freezer contents list
    Picked HG apples
Open curtains fully to let in as much light as possible
    Ashleigh
    FPL
Get ready for next weeks RM survey
    B/L/D from stores
    Make bread
Educated and entertained us all for free
    PAD

    Still to do:
Close curtains before it gets dark
Get bags packed for tomorrow as we have lots on
    Clear out email accounts
Write shopping list for tomorrow think it will mainly be milk, fruit & veg
    Soak porridge
    Set DW for overnight
    Set WM for overnight
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
