  • Not good on SFD's at all, but YNAB is really helping with the budget so I'm going to focus on SFD's next month. Helped by the fact that my temp job looks like it might be going permanent. Less time to spend money - and I seem to be a lot more focussed.

Exercise - crap. Over a stone put on. My race on Sunday is going to be a 'finish in under 1hr' not a PB. SO weight loss another focus for next month - in time for a 1year on holiday photo when we go in November.

Christmas - presents in progress. As we don't have kids, nieces and nephews, and my father! Are getting spoiled. Or my DH is - light sabre for my niece, therefore he has to have one to be able to play with her:rotfl:

Meal planning - working. Having to be a bit flexible, but I'm getting good at thinking on my feet. And using up bits in my own dinner. Lunches a bit limited at the moment, but if I get this job I'm going to try and get a microwave for the office. Otherwise the local sandwich place is going to make a fortune as I buy soup.

See you on the next thread.
    Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18
    Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o

    Evening all,

SFD number 14 here as I've been in work for 13 hours. But it does mean I hit the target :)

Tomorrow will be spendy as I need some food for batch cooking :) petrol and a birthday present.

    Night all

  • My cars been playing up, the central locking on the petrol cap won't release, which means I have to struggle to force it open when I refuel (and makes me look like a silly girlie who doesn't know what she's doing)
A quick google has shown me a key wiggling technique that might work, if not, I need to dig into the electronics.

Very surprised and pleased to find the key wiggling technique worked! Petrol cap now opening fine, and saved me having to rip out wires.

Spend day today, just the £20 for the chicken pack that the butcher had run out of the other day.
It will be a spend day tomorrow, Mcmillan coffee morning at work so I will pop a few quid in the tin. Won't be eating any cake thou as I'm not a fan of cake.

  • Good morning.

Had made a carefully planned Asda pick up order planned for tonight, but our car wasn't ready to be picked up last night. So we'll have to do that tonight and can't pick up the order. Had to cancel it and go to the shops last night to get tonights dinner etc. Stuck to the list though and even got some things cheaper in Tesco. Will then rather do the weekly shop in Aldi tomorrow and save a bit more.

Just as well actually as I had to rejig my October budget as I missed out a whole week of childcare :eek:!! I guess because we pay weekly and obviously Monday the 31st is still in October although I basically pay for November and hence October has been counted as a 5 week month (strange system this ).

Sorry about my round about ramblings. Anyway better get on with work and see you later.

    Hi all.

I will be doing a grocery shop this evening. Also gave 50p to DS so he could get a bun and a drink at the coffee morning at school. Have cycled this morning and will be walking the dog soon. I need to go into town then to withdraw cash for the kids activities for October, kids spending money and our entertainment money, also need to get dog worming tablets and spray for my bike for when I have ridden in the rain.

  • Not felt great this morning but went into work, popped a couple of pounds into the charity tin (mufti for Mcmillan coffee morning) then felt really sick and came home. I'm now back tucked up in bed and as I have nothing better to do and it's the last day of the month I thought I'd review the targets and see how I did.

Spends – aim for at least 14 NSD’s.
:DHit the target 14/14. I had a few large spends this month, mostly unplanned (pet cremation and vacuum dying) so I hope to keep a tighter rein on the spending next month.

Eating – menu plan for September. :DManaged very well with menus, no food waste and didn't buy any rubbish apart from the takeaway BF persuaded me to buy mid month.

Presents – make your Christmas lists. :D Have planned most of my list and started a couple of crafty presents.

Time – make time for yourself this month. :D Lots of films watched, few video games played and books read.

Empty – pick a drawer or cupboard to empty and sort through. :D Under the sink has been decluttered, as has the floor of my wardrobe thanks to a little shelf BF made me.

Meet meet up with a friend/family member who you have not seen for ages but keep meaning to. Ring/email/text them now and arrange something for this month. :D
Met with some family members who I haven't seen for years, I have plans to keep in touch.

Bed– either start bedding down the garden for winter or you will start making the bedroom suitable for the cooler weather. :DStill very warm at night, thou it's getting cooler so will switch off the fan overnight in a week or two.
BF has tidied up the yard and plant pots, and trimmed back the herb box.

Exercise – do as much exercise as possible, aim for every 2 days as a minimum. Can you make the most of these evenings before it gets dark at 5pm? :o Haven't done as much as I wanted to, but I have started running again (although being ill will push me back a couple of days) and cycled to work a few times on my early shifts.

Reading – Everyone will read a book during this month and report back with comments :DI've finished book five of 'Song of Ice and Fire' and also enjoyed 'The Martian' (alot better than the film I watched shortly after. I don't read nearly as much as I used to, so it was fun to focus on reading and finishing a book or two.

Apart from a half-a$sed attempt at exercise, I think the month went well.

  • So - thought I'd update for this month. Pay day has arrived and money has been allocated for bills etc.

spends – aim for at least 14 NSD’s. I didn't reach target - ended up on 12/14 which for me is still good progress!!! I'm pretty pleased with that!

Eating – menu plan for September. This didn't go to plan - went over on grocery budget by £25 and I paid for lunch twice. An improvement but I can do better!

Presents – make your Christmas lists. Done

Time – make time for yourself this month. Lots of 'me time' - short holiday break/ lots of bubble baths/ read my book.

Empty emptied under the sink cupboard.

Meet – meet up with a friend/family member who you have not seen for ages but keep meaning to. Ring/email/text them now and arrange something for this month. met up with friends I hadn't seen in a while - had lovely days out with them.

    Bed sorted out bedroom.

Exercise my sim was to hit 10,000 steps a day and I majorly failed at this!!!!!

Reading – I re-read last Game of Thrones book which I enjoyed.

So, not perfect but not bad either!

Thanks EE for running September apologies I haven't been great at posting this month. Have joined the library, cleared out under the sink and read a book which I wouldn't have done except for the challenge.

SFD have got better, needed hay today and bought some beef and ale - yes its a slow cooker job for the weekend. As otherwise my turn to pay to eat out with bf.

    Thanks again:T:T:T

  • Well I might get into ebay again after all. Already have a few watchers on other items and a bid on my Doc Martens.

Also found out I can get a new SLR lens for the same money it would cost me to repair mine, plus I can sell my old broken one for spares. Win-win.

Thanks for running the thread EE. see you on the other side
