I LOVE Northern Lights! I've just started reading it to my class :)

Another fan here :D although it's a while since I last read it. Think I'll add it to my list. Been reading a lot this month so far, planning to go to the library tomorrow after work as it's open late.

A spend day today, got milk and a couple of other bits. Not made a lot of progress on the other goals although spent some time this evening browsing p!ntrest looking for ideas for HM christmas cards.

    6th September

    Another NSD

Have slightly deviated from menu plan. Made a hearty soup using the chicken stock I made with remains of Sunday's dinner. Having that tomorrow.

Hospital visiting today so just the minimal walk to and from railway stations.

Was catching up with washing, ironing and general cleaning so didn't manage anything extra but I did wrap another three Christmas presents.

Went to bed early and finished my first book.

    Have a good day.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

Today should be another NSD, number 5. Beef bourgignon (sp) for tea last night and 2x2 portions frozen plus hubby has taken some for lunch. Tonight we'll have the fish then.

Really muggy and warm up here. At least these are good conditions for my winter veg seeds sprouting. And the weeds :(. Looking fwd to the cooler season now though.

Also managed to read last night.

Wow, christmas presents already wrapped Toni'sfriend, better get my act together soon. Will start with looking out my card making stash next week I think.

Yesterday was hot here and today is too, it makes it hard for me to get anything done indoors as I just want to soak it all up before it goes.

Both kids are back in school today (I'd forgotten what a stress the mornings are and we allow lots of time too), I've been out cycling for 8 miles and will do the same route in reverse after tea.

Working today then some cleaning although I did give the bathroom a quick once over before the school run.

I do feel sorry for all of you with school morning rush especially listening to my neighbours rushing around and getting stressed out from 6.30am and the lad still isn't ready at 8. lol
Feel smug no need to rush for me lazy breakfast and short drive to work. The advantages of getting older.

    Early check in today.

I am pleased to report that the last two nights I have been reading one of my library books. And of course it is about saving/managing money.

    Yesterday & today (so far)

Spending - NSD 1 yesterday. Did spend on meal out with work colleagues but that was planned for (since June!) and came within the budget set at beginning of the month. Small top up shop this morning on milk, cereal and sandwich stuff. (Can't buy all the week's milk at once as it won't fit in fridge - we use about 5pts/ day)

Eating - meal out for me last night. Generally eating from stores other than that - but stuff for packed lunches needed a top up

Me time - have started a new book. Seems good so far :) Great meal out last night - wasn't looking forward to it as was tired but really enjoyed myself :)

Empty - Busy at BTL this week finishing it off for new tenants - will be able to concentrate on here next week onwards - too tired on an evening after being there :( But bringing back hardly anything from the diy (excluding tools) - just a small box containing spare edging tape for kitchen units, 2 spare hinges (I find under sink cupboard ones get manky if people aren't careful) and colour matched sealant for the kitchen. Labelled and stored on garage shelf here. Excess paint left there for tenants to do touching up if required. All other bits n pieces disposed of :)

  • Not NSD yesterday as had to do a top up shop, most of which were YS except the bananas. 35 items for £10.37 but I used my £5 voucher from my More card so only spent £5.37 cash. Had 50 points added on to my More card + 35 from a wombled receipt. 4000 points to go before my next £5 voucher. Dinner last night was less than £1, two packs of ys sprat (small fish), rolled in flour, salt and flour and after being shallow fried was practically boneless. Yum. Was so shattered yesterday, so after dinner I had an hour's soak in the bath and straight to bed, was meaning to read a book but fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.

LTW was a naught creamy chicken squares 25p each (ys) and a piece of banana. And I gave my colleague an all day pasty I bought yesterday for 29p.

Work is a bit hectic today and I'm going straight to a choir practice after work. Hubby is in charge of cooking dinner, steamed trout and vegetables from stores. Another NSD is on the horizon if my husband won't forget that today is NSD.

I have just contacted PayPal because it looks like somebody down in London has hacked into my PayPal account and went on a spending spree on eBay, to the tune of £198. I am so glad I reported it as soon as I noticed. I have also reported it to my bank. Most have already come back as resolved in my favour.
