I swapped some chives for some mint with a friend a couple of years ago for our current house...i managed to kill it. Apparently I am not good at growing mint.
I have lots of tomato plants currently growing from seeds i saved from a supermarket tom but I think I've chosen the worst possible year to grow them. They are still quite small and I'm bringing them in at night to keep the slugs off them but if i see any tomatoes this summer it will be a miracle.
LOL, poor mint, I did tell Mr Pepper I needed to let part of my 'fav' plant go to seed and re-sow.... I'll save you some seed!!
I can certainly confirm my toms are not short of rain water .... sun on the other hand. How on earth is is May? I need to get the big pots out for them and get them planted out soon - but need to pick up some anti slug tape before they can be left out overnight or they'll just get eaten.

greenbee said:@kerri_gt - try sheeps' wool for the slugs. Or hair clippings (my salon lets me bring my hair home with me, and generally it goes into the compost for the minerals, but apparently it's a good slug repellent too!).2025 decluttering: 3,993🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

I have got ahead of myself. Friday is half term, 3 out of 5 beds have been stripped and laundered. All the bedrooms have been properly cleaned and tidied while they were all out at school. The house has been hoovered.A pile of dvds have been sorted out for watching and sending to the c/shop. One bag of c/s stuff is in the boot of the car, one more is in the hall going out tomorrow morning, and one more needs to be zapped on the book selling app to see they are worth anything before going to the charity shop. I also have found a pair of roller skates that are too small for any feet in this house! So they can go too. So I am feeling quite calm right now. Things are looking ordered.Supper tonight is aubergine and red peppers in black bean sauce (hotdogs for dissenters), dh is gaming so I will have a lovely bath and wash my hair in readiness for work tomorrow and watch the GBSB (hopefully avoiding Bob Ross - my whole household love him), whilst zapping books. I have had a squizz in the freezer and there is enough food in there to do us until June - with the slight addition of a bag of spuds, some butter, some pittas, and a pack of cornflour. So that is what I am going to do. A very very small shopping list for tomorrow morning, and then that is me set for the rest of the month - but I will be having a look in the c/shops on Friday morning. The DS's have asked what I want for my birthday in 3 weeks, and I have asked for a flowering plant. I know the supermarket is doing 3 for £5 on some nice ones. So I will get DH to take them - if they buy ones that are too ugly they can go at the back somewhere - I will no doubt end up with a bright pink monstrosity.DH gets his jab number 2 on Saturday, I get mine next Wednesday, I am off work on Monday due to the BH weekend. The weather witches say it is going to be hot and sunny for the next few days, so I am at work tomorrow, and then I am in holiday mode. So I really need to shave my legs or I might be mistaken for Mr Tumnus when I wear my new-to-me £1 very flattering cropped black trousers.Am laughing my face off at The Cummings Show - I do hope Hatt Manc0ck and Joris Bohnson receive those voodoo dolls they ordered for same day delivery from The Big River shop.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I read an article recently that hair clippings are being used as a way of soaking up oil spills in oceans, which I think is amazing. They basically stuff stockings and tights and put them in the sea to soak up the oil. Then they can be clean and reused.

Unfortunately loose hair still gives me the willies 🙈 bought some copper tape today so will plant out some of the toms at the weekend. I have quite a few of similar size so worst case, if they get eaten I have others to replace them with and will try something else. Reckon if i give our cat a good brush I'd have enough of her fur 😂
