I think the problem some people have, is that they have had people call them 'mad', 'insane', 'crazy' and similar things as insults. I know I have, and to be honest the do kinda hurt. Its hard to be called things like that when mental illness isn't something you've asked for, or brought on yourself. I know the nicknames here weren't meant as an insult or an attack, but I can see how someone who has been insulted with those words before wouldn't like to be called that again. Some people are good at deflecting insultings, but some of us are a bit more sensitive. If I can make a small change to stop someone going through unnessercary suffering, I will. The benefit they get is greater than the inconvience I feel.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

I could be a great advocate for the PC brigade if I wanted. I'm disabled, I don't have a career anymore, I've suffered depression and to top it all I'm a blonde Irish woman.:D
Could be worse, you could be ginger!!!! :rotfl:
Before anyone jumps on me I'm a ginge (well reddy brown)
I find this PC world we live in (no, not the computer shop the Political Correctness world) getting more and more stupider (who cares if that's not a word, I'm a ginger rebel!!) Nothing really surprises me anymore with what can and can't be said, it's a shame really!Kate

There was nothing wrong with ever so regular moneysaver or newbie moneysaver, so why change those? They could have then gone on with fabulously frugal moneysaver, super savvy moneysaver, etc. for example.
I can't say I'm overly bothered by the name change, but rather than offend people with mental health problems, it might offend people who were bullied at school and called geeks and nerds instead.
I like your suggestions - maybe we could have a campaign to change them! Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
