I preferred the "mad maverick" , than the "geek" description:rolleyes:"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Sorry..before someone reports me I really am not calling Ali stupid.
That would be rude and unnecessary (and an insult to stupid people)
I Know Ali can take a joke by the way.

They gave an opinion - I'm sat here thinking for us to shame them when they said so sincerely might not seem nice.HariboJunkie wrote: »Someone complained here
BTW I couldn't care less that the names have changed and I think the work Martin's doing with mind is great but I'm peed off about the nonsense that's necessitated this change.0 -
Well I've just checked my profile and I still appear to be a 'Mad Maverick Money Saving Maniac'.;)
I have no problem at all with that, but if I am reassigned to be a geek or a nerd I shall be complaining to Martin about it. This is a perfect example of someone being frightened to death of offending someone who has nothing better to do than dream up these spurious and imagined 'insults'. I expect the whinger works somewhere in the 'equality and diversity' industry.
I am sure far more people will be offended by being called a nerd or geek than being bonkers or a maniac. Truly, and literally, political correctness gone MAD!
Edit: Oh, no, I'm now a geek! Complaint on its way!!:D0 -
I wasn't offended
...reminds me of an INSET day I had a few years ago. As teachers we were told not to use the phrase 'brain storming' in lessons as it may offend people with epilepsy(!)..were told to use 'MIND SHOWER'
:A I can fly :A0 -
cant say I ever gave the descriptions a second thought before..
i'm sure my kids would agree with my new geek status
