Some people might be offended at being called a Maverick0 -

I don't like the new names at all, the old ones were more light-hearted & fun, imho
the new ones sound dull & boring
& before I get attacked for saying that, I've suffered from severe mental health issues periodically during my adult life (post-natal psychosis anyone?) & never found the old terms in the slightest bit insulting or demeaning0 -
Ok all joking aside I am horrified by the post in that thread which states that the previous titles are insulting. I worked for many years in the Mental Health field and have first and second hand experience of dealing with mental ill health. I can honestly put my hand on my heart and say that none, I repeat none of the people I came accross in my line of work would have ever been offended by an internet forum's tongue in cheek descriptions of it's members. I'm all for equality and stamping out discrimination but some members of the pc brigade seem to make it their life's work to seek out comments which they and they alone deem to be innapropriate. Well they don't speak for me or anyone I know. This is bonkers (not that I'm allowed to say that but I will. It's bonkers crazy mad lunacy.!!! There. report me. :mad:0 -

There was nothing wrong with ever so regular moneysaver or newbie moneysaver, so why change those? They could have then gone on with fabulously frugal moneysaver, super savvy moneysaver, etc. for example.
I can't say I'm overly bothered by the name change, but rather than offend people with mental health problems, it might offend people who were bullied at school and called geeks and nerds instead.
those alliterative ones you thought up are great, they trip off the tongue much more easily than for instance 'money saving inhabitant'0 -

I cross posted with you. Thanks for proving my point. :T0 -
It does sound like somebody being offended on behalf of somebody else again.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0

By the old descriptions..mad maverick, completely bonkers etc.
I'm so cross that people claim to be insulted on behalf of those with mental health issues. I'm interested to see how many of us cared.
Now we've been merged with the other thread... The poll is to find out who's offended.0
