So, I've just got off the phone to Barclays - again! It appears my claim has been put on hold until they receive some additional information from me. They are asking for a breakdown of the costs for the holiday, however I've just explained to them that I have already sent this (its in the LowCost Holidays confirmation document). They have added this note to my case and will look at it again. I'm not sure what else I can send them?
Keep sending them the same documents, they have probably lost them. A few people have reported that they have had to submit documents twice and have sent them recorded delivery, so they know they received them. I think the banks not having a set procedure means they aren't being particularly organised. Can you not email it to them? If you can do that to the person on the phone sometimes that can speed things along as it will actually make it onto your file.0 -
We have a result.
After telling Barclays they already had the information they required, I've just checked my account and they have credited my account with £1607 (Hotel and resort transfers). Thanks MSE (and everyone else that's posted on this thread).0 -

Giving them the CV2 is unwise. I wouldn't do that.0 -
absolutely fuming with Halifax!!! we visited our local branch for advice on 5/8 when we realised Hoteling.com were part of low cost holidays. They said put all relevant docs in the post as they were too busy to answer phone enquiries. We did this, only to have them returned to us more than a week later,..... we had been given the wrong address!, so this time I did phone them up,"email your docs in"they said so we did. We got an automated response please allow 7-10 days for a response. Heard nothing so phoned again today, they've no record of an email!! we'll start the process today!!!!!!!! gggrrrrrrr!!!!!!!0

I'm not sure if this helps anyone, but this is the timeline of events with my Barclays chargeback claim
Monday 18th July
Raised chargeback claim with Barclays over the telephone
Wednesday 20th July
Received Customer Dispute Disclaimer form from Barclays in the post
Thursday 21st July
Sent the form and copies of all other LCH documents back to Barclays in the post
Thursday 28th July
Barclays scanned the documents into their system
Monday 15th August
Barclays sent me a letter asking for more information (they already had this info from 28th July)
Thursday 19th August
Spoke to Barclays to explain they already had the information they required
Sent fax to Barclays containing the same documents I had already sent them
Refund paid into my account for hotel and resort transfers
Its worth noting that I also phoned them on a regular basis for any updates.0 -
Hi
Has anyone had part of their debit card chargeback claim paid but are still waiting on the balance?
We claimed through Halifax and received the bulk of our claim a few days ago, but are still waiting on about £400 which was paid through Paypal but came off our Halifax account. It was paid back in October last year so outwith the 180 day Paypal claim deadline. I did wonder if Halifax would have a problem with this bit of it (thank goodness the bulk of the payment was a straight debit card!).
Anyone else experienced anything similar?
Thanks

PayPal are aware of the situation as they would appear to have dealt with all the requested refunds for those eligible under their buyer guarantee. I would assume the delay is probably due to another layer of administration in the way. You could try calling PayPal and ask them how they are dealing with chargebacks for those outside of the 180 days (0800 358 7911), it may give you an idea of how long it could take. PayPal never asked for paperwork to prove what people did or did not receive, so must have got data from the administrators as to what was owing. They might be having to take that avenue with chargebacks too.
Let us know how you get on as it might help some people who thought they were outside of the 180 day buyer guarantee and had lost their money.0
