My point being that the term "cannot cancel" in the absence of any qualifier surely applies equally to vendor as to purchaser. Worth a legal challenge? How about it any legal experts out there?

Tesco's website states that a contract is not formed until payment is taken, which is done at the point they assemble the order ready for despatch.

Your order hasn't got to that stage so Tesco would claim there is no contract in place.

Whether their approach here is 100% legal is not for me to question. Your view about "cannot cancel" is logical ... how can the purchaser not cancel if Tesco are claiming that the contract doesn't yet exist?

If Tesco say (a customer) cannot cancel then surely they are admitting that a contract exists de facto?

Mine cancelled too. I asked if they would subsitute it with a similar wine but they weren't having any of it.

As I spotted the deal here I told my mate - and he ordered some immediately.

Booked a delivery slot for last night. It certainly hadn't arrived by 15 minutes after his delivery slot... even though he'd seen a Tesco van at a neighbour's house during that time

I had to go out though .... but to my knowledge there was no word, no van, no wine up to 1.5 hours after his delivery slot.

I won't know until later this evening now, when I get back online ... and if there was a problem ... I'll never hear the end of it. For years it will be "you and your dodgy deals ..."

Well I have just called Tesco as mine is due to turn up between 9-11 today, even tho it wasnt showing as dispatched and no money has been taken out I was assured it was arriving at the allotted time! That includes the Grenache - I will let you know how I get on.....

i wonder if its due stock being available in your local tescos??? or do they come from a national warehouse store type place.
i shall hide it away for xmas or my lot will guzzle the lot...hic hic.
