Did everyone who got their order cancelled get an email a couple of days before the delivery day confirming the delivery???

OH got an email today confirming the delivery due on Wednesday

I got one on Friday confirming delivery and got the cancellation call on Sunday morning

Yes, i ordered Tuesday and received an email on Friday to confirm the order and make sure that someone over the age of 18 would be there to receive the order.

No disrespect to first poster (originally a good spot!)- but also just had same problem - ordered mine last week, phone call tonight saying its out of stock and we wont be getting any. I was told, you can place an order when it says in stock, but its on a first come first served basis, so by the time your order reaches the top its out of stock and you dont get it!! SO whats the point in ordering it then if its not guaranteed when it says its in stock?? I think I need 12 bottles of red wine to calm down!!!! And they need to be free - and I might just be placated with that!!!:mad:

Best of luck to all who ordered this. Several of us went through the same kind of thing about a year ago - and Tesco didn't honour most of the orders then, either. The get out is that the contract is made at the point of sale, not when you order. So even if the wine is in stock when you order, it manages to disappear just when you want it delivered. Funny, that...

A word of caution, also...I wasn't even told my order had been cancelled back then. A delivery driver arrived with a delivery note and nothing else - it was left to me to ring up to find out what was going on.

Tesco are very good at cancelling orders after you have paid for them.

If you make a complaint they say they do not allocate stock to your order until it is about to be dispatched. If this is correct how come some of their 'deals of the day' are showing out of stock before you have chance to order. THe mobile phone deal last Thursday was showing out of stock for the discount price but in stock for the full price.
