Just had an absolute nightmare on chat with the advisors.. asked twice to cancel and not sure if they’ve actually done it as had no confirmation of this. Said I’d receive it in 24 hours.

Offered the following which I declined:
    Sky Signature - £21.50
    Sports - £23
    Cinema - £9
    HD - £5
    UHD - £2
    Multi - £9

    Total - £69.50

We only really want Sports (but for 2 TV’s). Sky signature content has become non-existent of late and the HBO changes will make it even worse in the next 12 months so refuse to pay so much for the signature package.

I've been with Sky for over 20 years and always been able to get a good deal from them, but now I find my self getting through to retentions to sort things out. This last time I was quoted a price as a Diamond VIP customer which was too high, rang the Sky team arranged a better price only to find the price quoted was not the price being charged, also received a message saying a returns parcel has been sent out to return the Sky equipment, The retentions team did sort things out but as for the returns parcel this is what they have told me- if they cancel the multiscreen and then re-apply multiscreen back on with offers applied, then it automatedly triggers a returns package sent out via Royal Mail and is tracked ( no wonder Sky price going up) . DO NOT send equipment back to them, but retain the packaging just in case, ONLY send equipment back if you are cancelling the Sky package, they look to see if there is an Active Account package. This also happened last time I renewed my Sky, you would think that the powers above would be doing their jobs and sorted it by now. I always check what offers are on for so called new customers and use this to bargain with them, once even said that I will cancel and then take on Sky again to get the offers (that year I got the price cut by nearly half). Always question the price quoted.

You say "price cut by nearly half" do you mean what you where paying before cancel request or Sky list prices or advertising prices?

I too, am a Diamond VIP customer of 23 years and query the annual price - last year, I asked for a discount and was told my option is to leave..
I am disabled and don't really want to lose my lifeline to reality so accepted their huge price increase

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Have the full monty with Sky on Q with two further Q satellite boxes - Signature, Movies, Sports, TNT Sports, Disney, Paramount, Discovery, Netflix, HD, UHD etc. Broadband is with Virgin at £31.50 a month. Out of contract with both in early August. Out of contract Sky is £164 and Virgin are wanting £64 a month for 256mb before negotiation. Sky have offered a full and final £147.99 if I take my broad band business to them and I'd retain the existing package. They started at £149.99 and took a whole two quid off when I had a moan. I've now cancelled as the deal was nowhere near what I was looking for. Just decising where to go next. Sky Q system is very goood and weve been with sky for 26 years. My first experience of haggling for a while hasnt been good but jesus wept £148 quid a month for telly is a lot of money!

Recently come to end of 18-Month contract for TV only, note Sky did not notify me of the contract ending, and I had assumed it was 24 months as there was no end date or period quoted on the last contract. I am convinced it was 24 months and it’s written in my diary for December 2025,

Was offered via account login Sky Signature and Sky Sports HD, for £62 a month, two expensive. Called, went through various people and eventually offered £50.50 for same package, accepted that as with two years of increases it should still be less than £60 in 2027.

Make sure that you check "future bills" . Just had a conversation with someone who renewed after negotiation ,to find that Sky had quietly removed  standard HD. Initially after he phoned them ,they wanted £9pm extra for HD - he had to battle to get that down to £4 pm

I have the same Sky package with the exception of Disney and have just renewed for £93, I was offered the same couple of quid off on the initial phone call so handed in my cancellation, the secret is to cancel and allow the service to turn off for a hour or two then call them up, the £93 was the first price I was offered with zero haggling, I had priced up the package individually using Now for Sky content and it came to over a £100 so was happy enough with the price.

Well today renewed my package after it got cut off yesterday.

I was paying £76 before with all my discounts.

    Sky HD
    Sky Sports HD
    Multiscreen
    Boost to Netflix Premium
    Sky Signature
    Sky Kids
Sky Sports Complete including Sky Sports+
    Ultimate TV Pack
    Sky Cinema
    Ultra HD

Best I was offered before was £79 and that was dropping down to basic Netflix.

Renewed all the above for £68, £24 credit due to after abit of back and forth with the HD/UHD cost and removal of the £10 admin fee.

Fairly happy with it, probably not the best deal.
