Re contracting is a new contract therefore 30 days cooling off period. Which I am in.0

I may be wrong here but my understanding is that SKY are allowed to increase their price, as they did not sign up to the "Non increase agreement", however whenever they do the subscriber has the right to get out of the contract.d123 said:james87 said:Total £59 a month for 24 months.Guaranteed that price won’t be the same for 24 months.1 -
So I'm doing the regular 18-month song-and-dance with Sky again over my contract price. My Sky Q contract is up beginning of July. Previously left them 18 months ago and ended up getting a cracking deal about a month into not having Sky TV:
Sky Signature: £19.50
Ultimate TV Pack: £4.50
Boost to Netflix Premium: £11
Sky HD: £0
Ultra HD: £2
Total: £37/month
This was due to go up to £65/month. A few weeks back I received an unsolicited e-mail with an offer of around £47/month for the same package, which would automatically renew on a monthly rolling basis if I didn't renew with them. Chatted with cancellations over text message today and the best they could offer was £43.49/month with a £10 admin fee. They then offered me the Sky TV Essentials package for £15/month. Went ahead with the cancellation.
I've already made my mind up about my contract. If I can't get the same price I was paying I'm just going to leave Sky for good. Been considering cord-cutting for a while now. I'd save a lot of money just keeping Netflix with terrestrial TV. I do like the recording capabilities of Sky Q though.
I'll keep you all updated if I am offered a better deal!1 -
Ive just re-contracted recently and I was told there was a cooling off period, also the email I got from sky confirming the new offers has this at the bottomBoohoo said:
I have to agree with brewerdave on this.brewerdave said:
Don't think you get a cooling off period for a re-contract so by agreeing the price for the full fibre I think you are stuck with Sky.Geddie_l said:Hi guys, asking for your advice as I'm relatively inexperienced haggling with Sky.
After several offers that I wasn't happy with, gave notice on Sky TV and at the end of the notice period called them. Ended up with the following deal which I've accepted for now:
Sky Signature TV plus Sky TV HD, with discounts £28.50
Plus Netflix no ads £10.99
Total TV as above £39.49
Full Fibre 150 £40
I want to keep the Q box for convenience, recording, ease of use etc...
1) Is the above a decent deal?
2) Given that Vodafone offers Full Fibre 150 for £26 (rising to £29 then £32) and EE for £29.99, should I switch to another broadband provider? Any downsides (e.g. compatibility with Q box, mesh Wi-Fi, decoupling from Sky TV package-wise etc)?
3) As I am in the 30 day cooling off period, do I just sign up with the new provider and they arrange the switch with Sky?
All advice appreciated!
Thank you.
You could call them up and ask to change but re-contracting has no cooling off period unlike new contracts.
If you decide that you no longer wish to keep this offer, you need to let us know any time within 31 days from when the offer is applied ("cooling off period"). If you do this we can normally put you back in the same position you were before you accepted this offer, however, if we're unable to put you on the same products and services as you were previously (for example because that product or service is no longer available) we can put you on an equivalent product instead.0 -

During chat they came back with 4 final offers on the last one I asked for a break down and at the end there was a bit about cooling off and I asked about it and the person said there was no cooling off period for customers who recontract on the same package/equipment as before.
If you take a new product like sky hd+ and then go to sky q or stream then you get a cooling off period was what I was told by sky person.
I did not take Sky up on their offer and cancel my TV package.0 -

My Sky Q contract not really up til the autumn but had a call asking if interested in broadband + Sky Glass package instead. If I’ve understood it correctly, Signature, Cinema, Sports, Kids, Paramount and Netflix boost no ads for £59 + £27 broadband (500) totalling £86 for 24 months with 43” TV. Just wondered if it’s worth considering? Not really on top of what Sky Glass offers that improves what I have. Currently pay £56 for the same Sky Q package without Netflix + 27 for slightly slower broadband elsewhere. Any thoughts welcome and is it really worth considering a change?

I've not heard many positive views of people moving from Q to Stream (which is what Sky Glass provides). No ability to FF through adverts is the main thing, and the EPG equivalent not being as good.Snowball389 said:My Sky Q contract not really up til the autumn but had a call asking if interested in broadband + Sky Glass package instead. You can skip the ads if you pay extra, I think it's £5 per month but doesn't include Netflix or any apps. Not being able to record live programmes puts me off, although I guess you could still stream them if you remember which they were.MeteredOut said:
