I see now. Yes it’s good. doubled to 1gb fibre. And saving £10 month on phone sims due to benefiting from double data.
  • Hi, just renewing Sky and usually manage to get a deal I’m happy with for signing a new contract (for over 10 years). This year seemed very different, no real interest in doing a deal. So put in the months notice. Just got an automated text about staying. Can people share any 2025 deals for all the standard channels (signature), with HD and Netflix. No kids channels, sports or movies. Sky quoting best price will be £44 after the April increase, which will be a massive increase. Which they blame on discounts for Netflix discounts no longer being offered.

"Blue light cards" / discount is supposedly available to emergency and public sector customers - does anybody know how this works ?

    Skys chatbot thinks otherwise
Just had a confusing chat and it thinks that civil servants can get an on-going discount
It won't tell me how much but it appears that retired civil servants are included - not "public" servants though - so NOT NHS etc

    Hi all,

Long time Sky TV and Broadband subscriber who's become disgruntled by the relentless price creeping, especially the annual above inflation rises which seems unjustifiable.

Both TV and Broadband were disconnected on Monday this week.

Am I likely to get any sort of contact from a 'Welcome Back' team based on current experiences?

Barring a pretty significant offer I think it's time to try life without for a few months and see how we get on.

    Any advice gratefully received.

Have since got Broadband back with Sky for slightly cheaper than our offers pre cancel.

As others have suggested, doesn't seem much scope for deals on Sky Q as the push towards Stream/Glass continues.

I've got an LG OLED TV with a Sonos Beam soundbar.

My old streaming sticks are very much cooked so it's a case of trying the built-in apps or looking at a new streaming device.

My main worry is the quality of live sports streams - Sky Sports and TNT. I'm planning to get Sky Sports though NOW with Ultra Boost and TNT Ultimate via Discovery+.

Does anyone have any views on whether a Roku stick, Apple TV etc will offer a noticeably better experience for live sports than the integrated LG apps?

I'm less concerned about the clunky interface to be honest.

    Cheers

If your leaving Sky and going all in on streaming the best investment you can make is a Apple TV 4K.

I can't comment on sports as I don't watch but the Apple TV 4K box is excellent and a real game changer compared to other streaming devices and the LG TV which is slow and clunky.  Also worth spending £5.99 on the TV Launcher app to get all the live channels
