Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

I was a new customer with Sky 18 months ago, and I signed up for the following package (monthly cost):
TV Ultimate + Standard Netflix - £32
Sky Sports - £23
TNT Sports - £25
Broadband - £19.50 equivalent cost (free for 9 months and £39 for 9 months)
Total £99.50 a month rising to £119 a month after 9 months
My renewal offer this month was as follows (prices take into account the April 2025 increase):
TV Ultimate + Standard Netflix - £32
Sky Sports - £31
TNT Sports - £31
Broadband - £43
Total £137 a month
I knew this offer was too much so decided to call them up. I had never haggled with Sky before, so I went with the strategy of not to take the first offer, with the view to holding out for around £90 a month (this is what new customers get for my TV package + Vodafone Broadband at around £25 a month)
Started off with Broadband, and Sky initially offered me a deal of £31 a month. Reasonable offer, but still refused as I said I could get it cheaper elsewhere. The guy then just bluntly said 'ok, you don't need to do anything, your new provider can sort out the switch'.
Moved to TV, after a minute or so, he came back to me with a price of £96 without providing any sort of breakdown, which would have meant the overall new cost (if I took broadband) would be £127, a £10 reduction only on their initial renewal offer.
I wasn't impressed so refused the TV deal, and he just confirmed he would go through the cancellation.
I was quite surprised how blunt and intransigent they were, I thought they would have tried more to keep me.
Exploring my options now, got a couple weeks to decide. Tempted to do EE TV with Big Sport as Broadband/Sport/Netflix will work out at £75 a month.2 -

I got my letter today and its going up £4 on 1 April (my futre bill only showed the increase from 7 April) so will be bringing my plans forward and giving them a call tomorrow to cancel as no intention of paying the more than 10% on principle and I want to avoid any part of the price increase. What freeview boxes are recommended that would best replace a Sky+HD box as I am used to the interface or will I just need to get used to a new interface. I think my current box is 250GB, not 100% sure that is correct, so debating on whether a 500gb or 1TB is best to go for.0

The best of the ones I have tried is the BT Pro 4k 1TB box, available for around £100 second hand from CEX or eBay.====2 -
I've not really missed the recording ability of my Sky Q box. I found most of the programs I downloaded were available to stream. It is handy to have "time shift" but I'm guessing you don't need a big hard drive for that.1

Paramount + £97.99 annually, ( £8.10 p/m)
Netflix £18.99
Discovery + £30.99
Now TV
Entertainment £5.99
Ultra Boost £4.99
Cinema £4.99
Sky Sports £26Monthly £100.05
Granted that is Paramount premium not basic, there is £4 difference, I have got the Now prices from forums based on common deals they offer if you cancel after paying full price for one month, you can possibly add around £5p/m to the total as the offers seem as random as Sky.s, £90-£100 is the target ill be setting when calling but ill take anything £105 or below, the question with higher quotes is how much is the Sky UI, content aggregation and ease of use worth to your household.

I'm currently paying £79.50 for Signature, Ultimate (Netflix without ads), Sports (plus HD), Cinema, Multiscreen, HD and UHD on Sky Q. I called to "cancel" this week and they offered me £99 to renew and refused to improve on that so I gave notice of cancellation. l am waiting to see if they offer me anything better during the notice period. It really does look like they're trying to rinse or discard Sky Q users in favour of their new streaming products.1

A question for any Sky Q users who have been through the cancel and rejoin process...
If I let the cancellation take effect and then accept an offer to rejoin before returning the box will the recordings on my Sky Q box still be available or will they be deleted on the cancellation date?0 -
