Whilst the broadband offer has applied correctly, most of the other offers haven't. I assume they record calls for proof of what I was offered.

It sounded like rubbish but I've rolled with it, they are planning to get it sorted. If I haven't heard by end of the week I'll be back onto them.0

Service - Current price - New price offered
Sky Signature - £36.50 £24.50
Ultimate TV (Netflix) £8.00 £10.50 (Netflix Standard 2 device no ads)
Sky Kids £7.00 £3.00
Sky Cinema £19.00 £10.00
Sky HD £9.00 £5.00
Multiscreen £15.00 £13.00
Ultra HD £4.00 £2.00
Total cost Current £98.50, new price offered £68.00
Saving £30.50 per month but requires a new 24 month contract plus the £10 admin fee.
My target was to get below £60 a month so I’m happy and have renewed.

Having already re-contracted to Sky on the 25th I had a call yesterday and another this morning asking why I left Sky and trying to get me back! The first caller quickly ended the call when I said but I rejoined, the second chap asked to check my account and what I'd signed up for to see if he could do any better. But it was the same as I'd already accepted, £39/month for Signature, Sports, Cinema in HD and UHD, on Sky Q.1

Thanks
Sure...
Service - Current price / New price offered before cancelling / Price offered after I cancelled
Sky Signature - £36.50 £24.50 £21.50
Ultimate TV (Netflix) £8.00 £10.50 (Standard 2 device no ads) £11.50 (Premium 4 devices UHD)
Sky Kids £7.00 £3.00 £3.00
Sky Cinema £19.00 £10.00 £7.00
Sky HD £9.00 £5.00 £4.00
Multiscreen £15.00 £13.00 £10.00
Ultra HD £4.00 £2.00 £1.00
Total cost for my out of contract current was £98.50, new price offered before I cancelled £68.00 + £10 admin fee, price offered a week after cancelling £58 plus £20 admin fee.
I accepted the £58 + £20 admin as they initially offered £61 + £20 admin. When they offered the £61 + admin I nearly accepted but asked about the admin fee. They quickly came back with £58 + £20 admin fee which saved me another £72 over the 24 month contract so I went with it.
I received a text (1 week after giving a months notice to cancel) asking me to go to https://www.sky.com/reviewmyoptions where I arranged the above deal via chat. Perhaps the agents on this section offer better deals?
It seems the admin fee was more interesting to the agent than the monthly rate I was getting so I wonder if they have better incentives getting admin fees paid than they do for the actual contract value??0 -
I sooo hate all this negotiation milarky, tbh. Just come off the phone from retentions where had an interesting conversation. Basically I was advised that the offer I had which I didn't accept would hold. However, offers changed day to day, so keep calling back to see if could better the offer.
Am paying £47.50 but will be out of contract in a week. Offer was for £1 less (not good) but better than the offer I had a week ago which was for £49.50.
Contracts are now all 24 months (I was on 18 month contract). Got a Q box.
I am seriously thinking about cancelling and streaming. I would have to sign up to Netflix but it would work out a lot cheaper overall than Sky. Already stream for free channels - mostly iPlayer tbh, Amazon, Disney+ and usually go to cinema for films - hardly ever watch Sky Cinema. Can stream films on Amazon/Netflix.
I have Signature, Cinema inc Paramount+, Netflix, HD so not really impressed by £1 off what I pay currently.

So I've gone from Sky Signature plus Netflix and multi room (SD as I never paid for HD) at £59.50 to Freesat, Netflix, Disney + and Prime all in 4k for £4.99 a month and the fresat recorder will have paid for itself in 4.5 months. It's a no brainer2 -

That is hugely reassuring. I did the sums this morning and you are absolutely correct - a no brainer. Unfortunately think I will have to stay a month with Sky out of contract before I can cancel.
What happens about the Q Box which is owned by Sky?0
