My sky TV Signature ends 15 Nov, Was paying £22.50 (was £19.50 when negotiated 18 mths ago)

The online chat given the below:

I've put together a deal that should be perfect for

Signature is normally £36.50, but you'll pay £22.50
(with a 24-month contract) This offer is for 24 months

It brings your total to £22.50 a month.
    Your offers will start today.
A one-off [admin fee of £0 will be added to your next bill.

Is this a good deal for sky signature only, i wanted something close to £18-£19, should i cancel and hope and wait for a retention deal

I see people been offer from £17 to £10 for signature but they do then to have other adds with it?

The full price of Signature is £36.50 so you decide !!

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Not sure on what your usage is like; do you record your shows often and are you watching Sky channels only? You would move to NowTV and have it cost you around a £15/m initially. Do the cancel game and you’d probably get that down further. Much much better than overpaying on something where you’re only watching content available via on demand.
  • It was suggested to me that some of the better deals were social deals?  Or possibly those who have submitted to a Glass TV?

Posters don't usually say if Q Box, Glass or Streaming Box deals.  I think that would be helpful, tbh, as The deal may be dependant on the access to Sky you have.

    Is this a true assumption?

I agree with you - I have Q which is now an old system - they are trying to get everyone on to Stream / Glass now !!
Q is far far better but the best deals normally are not available for Q
This really annoys me - why should someone who has been a customer for 23 years not get the same deal as a new customer and why does it cost Sky more to send a signal to a Q box than a Stream / Glass box ?

  • Sky have really screwed my offer up. They are charging me £412 next month with some debit adjustment of £300 odd. Whilst the broadband offer has applied correctly, most of the other offers haven't. I assume they record calls for proof of what I was offered.

I'm not Sky defender, but I suspect the need to rent space for satellite communications is more expensive that sending bits over the internet.

Yep. But you have to get onto them about it. I'm currently chasing an agreed £30 credit that hasn't appeared after signing up again. I went back via cancellations and asked about it. Supposedly the agent is getting their manager to listen back to the original call. I'm within my 31 day 'cooling off' period, so we'll see...

I am due to leave Sky in a week to move to Virgin Media, silly me thought it might be worth just giving them a quick ring as don`t really want to leave them.
My bill was Signature, HD, Superfast BB and anytime calls £75.50 going up to £79.50 in November.  Sky rang me about 2 weeks ago and offered me everything apart from the anytime calls for £54.50 and today when I rang she said she could not quote me for the BB as Virgin have a hold on my line so she could only estimate what it might be (how hard is it to quote for Superfast BB, I have had it for over 8 years and she had access to my account details)
Virgin Media is £39.99 -18 month contract, for a lot faster BB, weekend calls, Mega tv with HD included and double data on 3 x O2 contracts with no admin or set up costs
To be honest I am quite scared about moving but it is such a big saving I would be daft not to.

After no luck with the live chats and being passed around on the phone, I eventually got through to the retentions team. Every other department had no clue. Turns out the operator had just refunded me a whole bunch of previous bills to the tune of £312 and then this was being credited. However the system noticed this anomaly after a while and then decided it would take it off next month hence the £412 bill. He has no idea why its happened and the offers weren't applied but the notes on the system had the offer and they are no figuring out how to get it down to that price. I have a follow up call later today on it so hoping it will be sorted. They can only get my bill to £91 so far and can't make it reduce by an extra £10 without the bosses being involved.
