I think the fact that it's all based on computers now makes it harder to get deals anywhere. In the old days you could haggle away and sometimes they would agree somewhere around what you are suggesting, whereas now if the computer doesn't have that "deal" they either can't or won't do it manually.  That said since I accepted an offer of £63 my bills are all over the place.  I was paying £55 and my contract ran out mid July.,  Accepted the new deal 30 days before disconnection and my last bill was £23.54 with all sorts of amounts for number of days for this that or the other, discounted subscription, credit for cancellation etc.  Then my future bills showed £74 for next month, then £63 for months after, which is correct as a total, but the discount were different than what was agreed.  Today the future bills are showing as £7.38 with discounts and cancellation credits again and Sky Go Extra is on there even tough I didn't want that.  I didn't think it would be so difficult to work out the bills for a new deal on exactly the same package as previously but I can't make heads or tails of these bills!   :D

My service finishes in 11 days and I've still not had any sort of offer.

Is this normal, or should I have had them reach out by now?

Little interest in staying, but interested in seeing what their absolute best offer would be.

Are your marketing options turned on like post email text etc? Might be worth a go on live chat or call them on Friday when their offers refresh

I didn't get any offers in my cancellation period. I contacted them at T-3 days and agreed on a deal - probably could have saved another £ or two if I'd let it cancel, but had too much else going on so took the easy option (as much as I hate having to admit that). I have all marketing checkboxes ticked.

I switched to VM BB from Sky a 2 or 3 months back and had a solitary (missed) call from them before it completed. Not a single text or email, no messages on the box or online through my account.
  • There's a deal floating around for those who've previously cancelled Sky Stream. You can get 12 months half price Entertainment and Netflix on the 31 day contract for £15.50pm.
Ring them up and tell them you want this deal but can't activate it online.
Remember you need to have fast broadband of 30Mbps+ in order for Stream to work. The Stream pucks are pretty slow and I don't really recommend them, but if you can't have a dish and want Sky channels then this is a pretty good deal. Includes basic Discovery+ too and you can get free UHD/Atmos and free ad-skipping by repeating the free deals they offer you in the MySky app.

I tried that and they wouldn’t give that to me because I’m classed as a new customer as it’s been over 6 months. The best they could do is £22 a month on a 24 month contract or £31 on a rolling contract. I declined as I think that’s a bit expensive for what it is.

I have decided to cancel HD to save me £9 per month - but have been told that if I do this, I will instantly lose all of my HD recordings - is this correct ?
No! The advisors talk nonsense and you will get different answers from whomever you speak to either via live chat or over the phone. I cancelled HD last week and am still able to access my HD recordings no matter if its Sky Max,Sports Cinema or even Channel4HD. Make sure you check your vip app for any deals on HD/UHD

As a "trial" I've watched a few channels in SD recently . On a "modern" 4k TV they were all but unwatchable  eg Blaze, - masses of pixellation particularly in dark scenes . About time that Sky dropped this nonsense of charging extra for HD especially as they want to switch off the SD channels themselves !

Also - how do Sky get away with always stating "Please bear in mind that prices may increase during your minimum term."
Which means that any price quoted has no meaning at all.
Sky really needs considerable legal restraints.....

Was your HD sub physically turned off last week or is that just when you put your cancellation for HD in?
