I have given my 31 days notice to cancel my Sky subscription and the cancellation is due to happen tomorrow.

Yesterday I received a text message to call 03337594451 if I still wanted to keep watching sky. So I called the number and was offered the following deal which I have not yet accepted:

    Sky Signature - £21.50
    Netflix Premium - £11.50
    Sky Sports - £19.00
    Sky HD - £4.00
    Ultra HD - £2.00
    Multiscreen - £10.00
    Total - £68.00

Should I accept or let the package cancel and wait to hear from the Win back Team?
My sky package has cancelled today. So do I now wait to get the boxes to send back the Sky Q boxes? At what stage does Sky now call to win me back? Any experience from others who have gone through this process would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks.
They will send packaging out, as regards them contacting you, I'm afraid there is no guarantee they will. It's entirely their prerogative whether they offer you anything or not and if they do then it may not even be as good as their previous offer. It's all part of the dance. Perhaps just see how you get on without them, you may be surprised that you don't miss them at all.

    Do you need everything offered?

We will have to suck it and see if we can get on without missing them.

I thought I read on one of the prior posts that apparently there is a win back telephone number on the packaging that they send out.

My packaging to return the Q box arrived within a week of Sky switching off. There was a number to phone with this if I wanted to stay but I didn't bother and sent everything back. Despite having all my contact permissions switched to on I didn't receive one phone call from Sky. You do have a time period  for the box to be returned within so you don't need to return it straight away. If it's late back to them though, or you don't return it at all, they will charge you.

@L00king4deals Everyone is different but for what it's worth I don't miss Sky at all, and we had Sky TV for over 20 years. So much is available to stream, including on fta catch up apps. If you like Sports and don't mind not having UHD (I'm not sure what package you have) then NowTV is an option. I did get a come back to Sky text with a link from Sky that I clicked on before the packaging arrived, they offered me more than all the other previous bad deals I'd been emailed 😂 For me it isn't worth the hassle every 18 months anymore, as well as having to keep checking future billing in case of any issues. Their CS is also atrocious since Comcast bought Sky and a lot of it was outsourced as well, they will tell you anything to get you signed up so if you do make sure you keep an eye on your bills, and for the length of the whole contract as well.

@Peppa537 thank you. It's been one day without Sky and haven't missed it. Don't know whether we will longer term. Now TV is part of Sky and not any cheaper. Netflix is also cheaper on Sky rather than subscribing directly. I understand the point that you make about the hassle of keeping on top of Sky.

We have the free channels on TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Apple TV to tide us by for now. The bonus is that the footy season is finished for now.

@L00king4deals Remember with NowTV you don't need Entertainment to get Sports, so can have Sports only. Netflix is only slightly cheaper through Sky now since they changed the packages, and having UHD with Sky doesn't automatically mean you get the top tier of Netflix. The cheaper Netflix price through Sky (£4.50) is the Netflix with ads package and the standard price with Sky for the top one is £15.50, the cheapest I've seen it since it changed is £11.50. Sorry if you already know this, a lot of people renewing don't though and then find they haven't got the Netflix tier they previously had with Sky.
If you renew just make sure it's a price you're happy with and feel it's vfm for you. Also factor in any price increases, customers who renewed in March/April who were told they wouldn't have an April price increase are now getting emails saying the price will go up in July so no one gets away with these.

I'm 10 days away from disconnection and sky have not been in touch at all to offer me anything to stay.  I had Signature, Netflix and Movies and was paying £37 a month - best deal was £45 a month.  Looks like I will be leaving them after 27 years (although only 12 at this property.  VM isnt an option where I am, but Now TV is and they are offering me Entertainment and Cinema for £4.99 each a month,  I can also get Netflix for £4.99 too, so £14.97 for what I was paying £37 for and sky wants £45 seems a very good deal.
I got a text with 4 days to go asking me to call for their latest deal.  I did and got through to someone without having to go through all those automated processes.  A quick check of my details and he offered me Signature and Movies for £28.50, but was unwilling to budge on Netflix, although he was willing to add sports for another £15 a month, which I declined.  Ive re-contracted for another 18 months at a price less than I was paying 18 months ago.
    Did that include HD ?
My app offers me HD and UHD free for 4 months.

I’m currently paying £110.50 for my Sky package (up from £103 in April) and my contract will expire 14 June 2024.  Really not sure how it crept up so high but obviously, it’s a huge monthly cost. I also pay approx £43 for TNT Sports (already out of contract) and Disney+ just renewed at £109.90 for another year  (even though nobody in the house watches it).

I’m on a mission to get the monthly cost down.

    The individual breakdown is:

    Sky Signature: £31.50

    Netflix Ultimate: £8.00

    Sky Sports HD: £30.00

    Sky Cinema: £13.00

    Sky HD: £9.00

    Multiscreen: £15.00

    Ultra HD: £4.00

I’ve looked at my previous bills when I renewed my contract, It was £95 per month which looking back now, seems a bit high.

My TNT Sports package is £42.99:

    TNT Sports: £30.99

    HD: £6.00

    Multiroom: £6.00

Looking through the Sky offers, it appears that TNT Sports / Discovery+ is much cheaper through them (£27) as they don’t charge extra for HD or multiroom.

So, I can’t do much until 14 May but understand that unless they give me a decent offer, I need to give them 31 days notice in order to get better offers from the retention team.  Admittedly, I don’t want to leave as the house is all wired up with the Sky Q and mini boxes but I’m currently paying over £150 per month which is too much.  What do you reckon is a good monthly price target with all of the above included and are there any other tips you can advise in negotiating the price down?  I’m also a VIP Platinum customer of over 10 years if that makes any difference.

    Many thanks

I would suggest give 31 day notice to cancel, once the tv is fully switch off contact them they will do everything for approx £70 a month  to £80 a month

I got my dates wrong and tried to cancel a day early so I'm phoning back tomorrow.  That said, I got an offer from the retention team which didn't sound too bad but if it's their first offer, I'm not convinced.

    Signature: £24.50 (£36.50)
    Netflix Ultimate: £11.50 (£15.50)
    HD £5 (£9)
    UHD £1 (£4)
    Sky Sports £23 (£35)
    Cinema £10 (£19)
    Multiroom £11 (£15)

    Total cost = £86 (£110.50)

+ optional TNT £27 (£42.99).  This has already been cancelled from BT so will definitely save on this by buying through Sky as I'm not charged extra for HD or multiroom twice.

Most of it is ok and pretty much in line with other deals but the Sky Sports is the deal breaker.  I've seen it as low as £8 but it was suggested to perhaps wait until August as good offers are usually available for the start of the new season.  The guy was pretty helpful and said that deals change on Fridays and I may get it cheaper by a different team but nothing is guaranteed.

I'll see what they say tomorrow and hold out for my price target of £70 / £75. I think that sounds achievable but what do you guys think? If that means giving notice and going through the whole ball ache of doing without for a few weeks, I'll do that .... no matter how much the kids and missus complain :)
I got busy with work but found the time to follow up on my call last week.  My best offer last week was £86 and now it's £88.  I've now cancelled so let's see how this plays out?  The prices just seem so random from customer to customer....
Well, that ws easier than I expected.  I put in my cancellation last week and then received a call yesterday. I was asked what my price target was and I replied approx £70 after their latest offer of £88. After a quick discussion, he got it down to £74 so I removed the UHD for £3 (never used it) which made the final price £71.  He also tried to charge me a £20 admin charge which I said I wouldn't pay as I didn't see why? He agreed to waive that charge.

Then while he was sorting out the contracts, we got talking about football.  Found out we both supported Manchester United so I asked about an additional discount for a fellow red? He agreed another £2 discount :).  Don't ask, don't get.

So my final package ended up as:

    Signature: £18.50 (£36.50)
    Netflix Ultimate: £11.50 (£15.50)
    HD: £5 (£9)
    Sky Sports: £14 (£35)
    Cinema: £8 (£19)
    Multiroom: £12 (£15)

    Total cost = £69.00 (£120.00+)

Maybe I could have got it a touch cheaper but I'm happy with that deal - as is my Netflix addicted family.  I'll keep an eye out for TNT add-ons (currently £27) once the season starts as I understand that pre-season, they sometimes offer sports packages for good deals.

Hope this helps someone in their deal.

We need to hear from someone who actually got switched off and see what they got offered for a comparable package to come back to see if its even cheaper.
I cancelled and let it run out and moved to another supplier. Sky emailed on the day of the change-over (!) to invite me to call them to see if they could get me back as a customer (!), and then again a week later with a deal of circa 35% off the price they had quoted me before I left. Obviously, I didn't take them up on their offer as it was too late. I can't seem to remember them trying to contact me during the notice period.
