Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Cancelled yesterday and almost immediately had 50% when next logged into mysky account. But want the 60% off plus £50 credit or nothing. Do you think it's needs adding to my account for me to be eligible or do you think if I open chat and either say I have had it offered / heard of the offer that would do the trick?
In my experience, any credit would not usually appear as part of an offer in your mysky account.
There's certainly no harm in using the online chat facility - I have had various offers when trying this over the last few weeks, the best being 60% off plus £100 credit. It seems the luck of the draw as to who you get, and what they offer you.
Hope this helps - let us know how you get on0 -

How can they justify charging "one-off" fees on a rental agreement?
No Sky Q for me anytime soon.0 -

True, I might add that I wasn't thinking of taking them up on their 'generous' offer.
Edit: actually it's 'only' £11.06 a month increase as it's for 18 months.0 -
Having read various negative reviews of Sky Q citing problems with wifi connection drop outs, boxes crashing & having to be reset (losing recordings), remotes being difficult to handle, series link recordings not being grouped together, blank tiles (what?), etc, etc, I think I'll stick with what I've got!
What's the point of paying hefty one-offs for an inferior experience?0 -
I can't understand why anyone would pay £199 for a piece of equipment they will never own. It took me years before I spent £49 on a 2Tb Sky+ box, but at least my son's using that now I no longer have Sky."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

I cant get through to anyone on on-line chat with Sky. Tried a few times, and says "connecting" waiting for several minutes and nothing happens. Tried cancelling online through the menu, was just offered 10% off.0

Well that was easier than expected. Got the 60% straight away and took a few minutes to get credit up from £20 to £50. Wouldn't go any higher even though I tried for about 15 minutes. Only negative was that they wouldn't do the 60% of Multiroom0

Persistence works. I was told that 40% off TV for 12 months is maximum they could do. Told them it clearly isn't as I've got 50% off showing on my account and was then told that I couldn't have (basically called me a liar). I told the agent that I did and he asked his manager to confirm and found that I was right. He then offered me the 50% off.
Told him that I'll just cancel as my deal last year was better and I'd rather just do without. He asked me what I'd do as an alternative and told him I had the options of BT, TalkTalk, Netflix etc. He said he'd do me a deal of 60%, I pushed further and done better this year than the last 5 years. I've always had 50% off but now I have just got:
60% off TV (Box Sets with Sports & Cinema) - £29.60
Sky Sports HD Pack - £6.00
Sky Multiscreen - £12.00
Sky Go Extra - Free (Included in Multiscreen)
50% off Sky Fibre Unlimited - £10.00
50% off Sky Talk Line Rental - £9.49
Total - £67.09 down from £82.40
Also received £50 credit.0 -
