Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

Cancelled sky yesterday. Have been doing for last 20 years. Was offered 50% off sky subscription without asking. Sky q 2tb and two minis were free but only 10% offered off subscription. Declined and have the 60% offer in services menu. Did people get the £50 in services or is it a phonecall again to negotiate. Will look into transferring g to sky q once I've sorted new contract.0

Didn't appear in my services/account section. I was offered on chat but I think it also applies on the phone.0

Thanks. I've been offered the following:
- Sky Q - 25% discount on TV package plus £12 for multiroom and £50 credit. This includes free 2TB Sky Q and 1 mini box. Additional mini boxes would be the standard £99 charge.
- Keep existing Sky package with 60% discount and £50 credit. I can then upgrade to Sky Q and keep the discount (plus £12 for multiroom). Charge for 2TB box and 1 mini box would be £100, then £99 for additional mini box (so £199 charge for the 'free' equipment).
The second deal works out cheaper over the 12 months. Shame there doesn't seem to be a discount on the setup of the equipment - unless you managed to get something?
The Virgin Media deal I have been offered (as a new customer with special discount) is better as it's practically the same price but includes 200MB broadband and phone but I really don't like the Virgin interface or the hassle of installation.
Don't forget that the Sky Q equipment is never yours so that the £199 is dead money and should be added to your monthly sub costs to work out the real cost.Cancelled sky yesterday. I'm not aware of anyone ever getting credit except via phone or live chat.0 -

In answer to another question the £50 credit can only be obtained by phone or web chat
...not necessarily so; last year I received a retention offer of 50% plus £50 credit via email - but I hung out for 60% as on my package it was a better deal.:)0 -
I'm getting a bit confused!
I haggled my package down to £58 last week. That's £68 viewing package incl sports & cinema down to £34 + £12 HD + £12 Multiroom = £58.
I just went online to upgrade to Sky Q.
The one-offs £297 (£99 installation & 2 x £99 for 2 mini boxes). Is that reasonable?
The monthly cost came in at £41 (£92 after offers) for 18 mth contract. I think the £41 would only be for 12 months, so I'd pay £41 x 12 & £92 x 6 = £1044 /18 = £58! Is that reasonable?0 -

If I add multiroom at £12 a month then the 'install' costs go down to £20 for the 1TB box or £60 for the 2TB box with an addittional £40 for a Mini Q box.(£43.50 a month)
'New 18 month minimum subscriptions apply' which seems to indicate that the monthly costs quoted are for the full term.
'Watching on your first extra TV screen comes at a one-off cost of £40 and £99 for each subsequent TV. We'll lend you one Sky Q Mini box per TV at no charge.' If there's no charge then what's the £40 for? I thought the 2TB box came with an additional Mini Q box anyway?
Confused? You will be after this weeks episode of...0 -
My package was due to end this month.
I was paying £35 for Skysports +HD / Boxsets / all the documentaries etc...was due to go up to £71.50.
Spoke to them on the chat thing and straight off gave me 50% off. Wouldnt go any further so I cancelled.
The next day I had a 60% off offer, why the person on the chat didnt just offer the 60% is beyond me as it would have saved an hour of their time.
Anyway now paying less than when I originally subscribed a few years back.
Broadband is elsewhere with plusnet who are introducing the BT Sport app for £2.50 a month which Ill cast to the TV so sorted.0 -
Cancelled yesterday and almost immediately had 50% when next logged into mysky account. But want the 60% off plus £50 credit or nothing. Do you think it's needs adding to my account for me to be eligible or do you think if I open chat and either say I have had it offered / heard of the offer that would do the trick?0
