Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

It seems variable whether you will get a discount on the setup costs of Sky Q, and if you do, you will probably get a lower discount on the subscription cost. I'm looking for Sky Q 2tb plus two mini boxes. I would be happy with my current 60% discount plus £12 fee for Sky Q multiroom, which doesn't seem unreasonable but it seems most haven't been offered this. I'm ideally I'm looking for free equipment setup costs with 60% subscription discount (but I think I am pushing my luck there!)
I was told that my current 60% discount could be combined with Sky Q multiroom but I would pay full subscription costs for TV package from January next year (when my discount finishes). I wasn't prepared to commit to that so I gave notice to cancel (my discount was without a minimum term). I'm currently only seeing 50% discount available to me. Will wait a bit longer.0 -

It is true that Q retention deals are worse. I cancelled and was on my final day before the service was being cut. I previously had a 50% deal which rolled over when I set Q up in September.
What they have done is re-align all my contracts including broadband and I'm now paying £73.50 for:
Sky Q with 1 mini box and Ultra HD
Boxsets with Movies (25% off)
Fibre Broadband (50% off)
Line Rental (50% off)
I pushed and pushed for more discount on TV and asked a Sky employee I know, but 25% is the max. I was pleased with 50% off phoneline as last year they only knocked a few quid off. Total cost last year was £64.99, so a small rise overall but we do get our fair use out of it.0 -
I don't always read retention threads, but I haven't yet seen a post about someone going by the usual route and cancelling Q, as with the 'old' system. (Not been available for 12 months yet ?)0

Exactly right.
My contract started late Feb 16 so I can start negotiating end of July, but I may wait to see what others manage to get.0 -

I mention 12 in case anyone had a special offer, but was mainly referring to the fact that all takers are probably still in their minimum term, so there are no offers to compare, yet.
If retention offers match the pattern of the meagre start up offers, there will be few rich pickings. However, the media report that Sky are now losing more customers than they are gaining, while in the past they gained more newcomers or lured back leavers, than those leaving and staying away.0 -

Well i held out and today the 60% appeared - so i gave them a ring - got 60% off + a £50 credit ( 12 mth contract ) they also gave me 3 mths free then 1/2 price on phone and broadband for the remaining 9mths because , i wanted to upgrade to fibre but it seems living in the sticks the local cabinet isn't capable from open reach reach yet . but im happy with that :T0 -
Hi,
I just cancelled my sky Box Sets contract, due to pay £38 from next month, First their retentions offered 30% off, then 40% at which point I cancelled. Then just saw the 50% off on the website.
Question is do you think they may offer this 60% (that i've heard others offered) if I wait longer? Also, do you think it is worth asking for discount on Sky Q 2TB box install?
thanks!0
