Ah yeah I just saw that they added 3 charges of £10, but he has been charged £20 admin fee in total , which is a total joke of a fee! It seem's the days of 50% off with sky are long gone.Alpha_5 said:
Are Sky now charging £10 admin fees on every element of a package? That seems v steep if so.mikeizz said:Friend at work has just accepted this deal.
As others have said, you can't seem to get amazing deals like used to!!......
Sky Signature standard cost is £34 but you'll pay just £23 a month (that's a £11 discount with an 18-month contract) with £10 Admin Fee
Sky sports complete pack standard cost is £34 but you'll pay £19 a month(that's £15 off for 18 month contract) with £10 admin fee
Multiscreen usually £15 but you'll pay at £9.50 (that's £5.50 off for 18 months)with £10 admin fee
Total £51.50 a month
Does anyone know if price rise notifications are still in the process of being sent out? I haven't received one yet, but my previous offers ended last week and Sky automatically applied new (less generous) discounts, so I don't know whether I'll be impacted by a price rise as well. I just want to be fully armed before haggling.
I ditched them years ago and don't regret it0 -
Domino's pizza pricing strategy. Ludicrous artificially inflated standard price to make the so called 'discounts' appealing.mikeizz said:Friend at work has just accepted this deal.

Well that live chat was pointless the text through to review my options so went onto the chat and was offered the worst deal imaginable bare in mind my previous deal was £75 including broadband as well posted previously this was the new quote from “winback”:
Sky Signature at 21.00 Usually at £34.00
Sky HD at £9.00
Sky Sports complete pack at £27.00
Sky Q Multiscreen at £9.50 Usually at £15.00.
Sky Cinema at £12 Usually at £19
The discounted price is £78.50
Seriously considering putting my parents on now tv for a fraction of that price.

I wonder how many people are paying the full 34 pounds a month for signature, just to record coronation street!J292 said:Well that live chat was pointless the text through to review my options so went onto the chat and was offered the worst deal imaginable bare in mind my previous deal was £75 including broadband as well posted previously this was the new quote from “winback”:

I worked for them years ago for a short while in the downgrades department and the amount of people paying way over the odds was crazy you also had people who were still on the old digiboxes that just didn’t bother managing their account like they should I get the feeling Sky want to push people off Q and get them onto sky stream and glassDeleterious said:

I get that feeling myself. Been reading around and it looks as though the deal with astra is up in the not to distant feature. This is added to the fact that the current satellites are coming towards the end of their operational lifespan. Sky stream and glass are a great way for sky to increase their profit margins further. Thing is, in my eyes, that would make sky instantly obsolete. Their only selling point for me is the functionality and versatility of sky q. That and sports but there are ways and means for that.J292 said:

I agree, if you were considering an entertainment channel start up now you wouldn’t even consider distribution by satellite.Deleterious said:

The distribution method is already in place in the vast majority of homes even in the small market town where I live, we have Gigabyte FTTP broadband.0 -

I've got 15+ years in continuously and have always been very resolute in not paying the "Admin Fee" as it's pure price gouging. I'd rather let a good deal go and let the cancellation go through than pay it.mikeizz said:

I agree - normally refuse to pay "admin fee" of any amount -however ,when I did a deal to upgrade to SkyQ in December at the end of my 18 month deal, I reluctantly accepted £10 fee (negotiated reduction from £30) only because I got a continuation of the previous SkyHD price and free install.JSmithy45AD said:
