Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

I'm out of touch with Sky, not been with them for years. Took the dish off the wall and removed all wiring. Ever since been with Virgin Media, well back to the NTL days really.
Now we may revert back, sick of Virgin, especially this latest rounds of contact with them, another story that.
Anyways their offer (Sky) broadband, TV, phone for £43 with a set up/installation fee of £29.95. I'm currently paying £63 with VM and in dispute with their current price rise of £4 taking it to £67. Awaiting an answer in that.
So ATM I have a BT line to the house, cables come into the house but are just there and not going into a BT wall box. The line is obviously disconnected. Question is who been through this, do Sky charge for a reconnection of the BT line and at best will they charge for the extra wall box to be installed? Could i negotiate a deal being as I'm possibly moving to them? Is there anything I could factor in to the 18 month contract like BT sport's or Sky sports for possible less I'm paying VM ATM?0 -
Did they ring you or did you contact them just before disconnection ?Crookie said:Granted a few months ago, but managed to get Sky Signature and HD for £14p/m, on a 18 month contract (took a lot of haggling!)
Then was offered Superfast Broadband at £19p/m for 18 months, which I've just taken too.
Relatively pleased with both offers, got the TV offer 2 or 3 days before disconnection...0 -
I would contact them as a new customer and see what they can do ? Don't commit and see if they can bring the cost down a bit.Brewer20 said:I'm out of touch with Sky, not been with them for years. But bear in mind that Sky "engineers" are not carrying out any work inside your home - they will position a dish on an outside wall and connect cables but will expect you to carry out the install work inside.Space_Captain said:

Any idea for what should be a target price for pretty much the full works on TV (less Kids) with no broadband or phone tie-in.
Looking at Sky Q with one additional room (already have the kit setup)
Full Sports (Sky + BT), Ultra HD, Netflix, Movies optional.
Just trying to get an idea for what is reasonable (initial price quoted was £84), also need to benchmark against Virgin anyway as I have my broadband with them.0 -

Kids £1
Hd £1 to £2
Sky sports £15
Sky movies £5 to £8
Bt sport £13
Multiscreen £5 to £10
Ultra HD free
Netflix £2.50 to £4
Broadband superfast with tie in £18 to £25
No tie in £32
The above is all possible depending on the advisor you get

In the end they just came back with the £84 offer, so I cancelled.
Virgin were offering about half the price (albeit excluding Netflix) so I will go with that as the other option0 -
I contacted them as to cancel, where they gave me their first offer (from memory around £21 for Signature and HD). Said it wasn't good enough to stay and left it at that. I then got an online offer for around £17/18 which I ignored, and then a few days before disconnection got a call from the 'retention / win back team', who said what price would they have to get to in order for me to stay. I said £14/pm, which they came back to me the next day agreeing to.Space_Captain said:

Live chat have offered me £17 signature and £2 HD. I have said it's too high and to proceed with the cancellation.
