Sky TV retention deals ( post your haggling successes )

I have just renewed my contract for £55 a month, same price as last year, for the full TV package incl Ultimate, Sports, Movies, Q, Kids, Multiscreen and UHD. I gave notice three weeks ago, and had an e mail after a week offering Sports, Movies and Signature inc Box sets for £40 a month, managed to get further reduction during call today, happy with £55, considering my missus was subscribing to Netflix direct and paying £11.99 a month on top of the Sky sub which didn’t include Ultimate until today.ad_cska said:Hi all, I wondered if anyone can give some pointers on whether I am getting a good re-contracting deal or not! My current contract expires Feb 2021 but I have some time on my hands and wanted to see if I could re-contract for a longer period at a lower cost. I can only take Sky TV as I don't get fibre in my area so I'm stuck with Virgin cable in that department. I have been offered my same deal, which is:
Sky Signature
Sky Sports - complete pack
Sky HD
Sky Q Multiscreen
At a cost of £44.50/month. There is obviously the £20 admin fee which miffs me slightly but I'll see if I can work my magic for them to waive it.
I would be really grateful if someone could let me know if this is a good deal or not?0 -
The best I could get on this was £43.50. It turns out the £44.50 was misspriced as the agent forgot to add on HD at £2/m (so the actual price should have been £46.50. I'm happy with £43.50. I probably could have got a better priced deal by holding out and cancelling before the end of my contract rather than recontracting midway through but to be honest quite happy to now be upgraded (as it were) from my legacy Sky Entertainment to Sky Signature (which includes box sets).ad_cska said:Hi all, I wondered if anyone can give some pointers on whether I am getting a good re-contracting deal or not! Was I the only one who had to give Sky my old HD+ box when I got Sky Q installed?0

One of my s-i-ls upgraded about 9 months ago to Q - I've got his old HD box stashed away as a spare for my set up. He wasn't asked.st999 said:Was I the only one who had to give Sky my old HD+ box when I got Sky Q installed?0 -
Do you live in a Virgin Media area? I can’t seem to get them below £29 for the same package.Mwood1 said:Update.
Have been away from Sky since April. After 6 weeks started receiving e-mails from them.
Old sky HD Box - 18 month deal. £10 admin fee.
£13pm Signature SD
£12pm Sky sports HD
Total £25pm.
Hope this helps.0 -
Was rang by Sky for the first time since cancelling today- very strange phone call where the agent seemed to overstate the full price of my desired package by £9 to make it his offer more appealing (it was higher than both the win back offer on the website/and previous phone conversations).
The agent stated he was in the win back team but I doubt that was the case. In short, be careful what Sky agents tell you and research pricing fully.0 -
Has anyone got a new sky box in re-negotiations?
We've been with sky for I can't remeber, phone, HD pack, multi room, movies, every time price hike we get a small deal when my OH calls - we have bT sport, Netflix and on and off Now tv - our package amoutns to a lot as we don't watch most of it but the multiroom and the phone wins over at Sky.
What would be the best option recalling that a free calls to moibles and non geo number and multi room and HD are required sports not really, nor kids tv, but Discovery and History is a must. and sky plus type recording etc.
TIA-1 -
Not sure to be honest. I’m getting emails twice a month with the above offers.eljmayes said:

I managed to get upgraded to Sky Q, I got a new dish and Sky Q box and Sky cinema when I phoned and told them I was thinking of leaving because I was at the end of my contract and they were going to increase my cost.sweetsand said:Has anyone got a new sky box in re-negotiations?

TIAI did end up paying £4.00 a month more but since I saved £10.50 on my broadband with phoning up Virgin I consider it a win as I am £6.50 a month better off plus a new box and dish and Sky cinemaYou can only phone them up and try.0 -
On live chat now with Sky, I currently am paying £94 pm for Sky Entertainment £29, Sky Sports Complete Pack £28, Sky Cinema £11, Sky Sports HD £6, Sky HD £6, Sky Multiscreen £14 as just come off fixed deal of £52.50They are now offering Sky Signature £23 instead of £30 Sky HD £2 instead of £4, Complete Sports £18 instead of £34, Cinema £8 instead of £19. So a total cost of £63.50 for a new 18 month contract + they want £25 for the Ultra HD box instead of £199 and £20 Admin fee which they will apply a credit for on account (only the Admin Fee)Still seems high, what are your views on this please0
