I`ve also, finally took the step up to Sky Q.
£45 per month (with £25 one off fee for box/installation) for complete Sports pack in HD, Signature, Kids, HD, UHD, Multi screen and Ultimate On Demand (Premium Netflix) all on the 2TB box + 4 mini boxes. So everything except Movies, inquired about that as well and offered it for an additional £11. Personally, don`t think Sky Movies are all that appealing.
Took 2 1/2 hours on chat this morning, but all done for 18 months now
More than happy with that. 3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0 -
Were you told that the installer would take your old box away with him or was I the only one?shavy65 said:I`ve also, finally took the step up to Sky Q.

No afraid not pal. I was conscious of what you had said earlier so was curious as to whether or not they`d mention it. I can assure you they won`t be taking my old box with them, or my old LNB for that matter (I read that they change your LNB to a Sky Q compatible one, anyone know if that`s right?). I`ll be keeping my box/LNB for bargaining leverage the next time I need to perform the merry negotiating dance.3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0

They do change the LNB, The old LNB isn't suitable.shavy65 said:No afraid not pal. I was conscious of what you had said earlier so was curious as to whether or not they`d mention it. I got a new dish and LNB, my old dish was all rusted anyway.
They didn't replace the wire but did put new F connectors on the ends.1 -
I think I read somewhere that you can actually request they put up a hybrid LNB which would work with Q and old HD box. I`ll chance asking for that.3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0

I've been told that they won't fit a hybrid LNB UNLESS you are needing it to feed an already existing Freesat set up - suspect Sky are doing everything they can to stop Q subscribers going back to "old" HD boxes!!shavy65 said:I think I read somewhere that you can actually request they put up a hybrid LNB which would work with Q and old HD box. Has anyone received a letter/email from Sky advising that their contract is due to expire and offered a new deal?0
-
I've been given Sky Entertainment with Box sets and HD for £19.20pm with no contract. They didn't send a letter/email, it just happened. However as I had only been paying £12 and then latterly £14.20 I put in my notice to cancel.sharonjeff said:Has anyone received a letter/email from Sky advising that their contract is due to expire and offered a new deal?1 -
Hi all, I wondered if anyone can give some pointers on whether I am getting a good re-contracting deal or not! My current contract expires Feb 2021 but I have some time on my hands and wanted to see if I could re-contract for a longer period at a lower cost. I can only take Sky TV as I don't get fibre in my area so I'm stuck with Virgin cable in that department. I have been offered my same deal, which is:
Sky Signature
Sky Sports - complete pack
Sky HD
Sky Q Multiscreen
At a cost of £44.50/month. There is obviously the £20 admin fee which miffs me slightly but I'll see if I can work my magic for them to waive it.
I would be really grateful if someone could let me know if this is a good deal or not?0
