Has anyone contacted Sky regarding the upcoming price rises to voice their displeasure and if so what kind of stance were they taking regarding it. My bill is going up £4 a month from April and still have about 4 months till renewal time.
Yes, I got rid of the box sets which were £1 and HD which were also £1. So, my bill remains more or less the same as before. Ok...I lose out on HD and Box sets, but didnt really watch them. Will miss HD though.....
So was there no attempt on Sky’s part to do something on your current package to try and offset the price hike in any way? You had to downgrade to keep
    bills the same?
In my experience gained over negotiating the past 6 years or so, the first thing they try, is to persuade you to drop packages to save money - I always reject that out of hand.

1 week to go before Sky is cut off..
ignored 2 phone calls a day for 2 weeks..
    had an email today offering
sky sports, movies, box sets for £32 month
broadband is still offered at £27 month.
nothing about multi-room ..which i need or Netflix (which was offered for 1/2 the price i pay netflix currently when i rang to cancel sky)
i dont think its that good a deal... i will wait for them to call back..outbound retentions seem to have more ability to lower prices.
    anyone had a similar offer?

Just off messenger chat with Sky after challenging them on the forthcoming price increase. My bill is due to go up £4 (almost 10%) in April. I was hoping as my current deal is up in until July I’d be close enough we could get into discussions about a new deal but weren’t interested at all. Just said to contact nearer the time. Guess I’ll just have to suck it up until I can put a cancellation notice in 3 months time

For anyone interested, SKY q, and multiroom with a mini and all channels movies sports etc with ultimate on demand netflix

I cancelled 2 weeks ago, had a text today saying call us for exclusive offers

My bill had gone to £115. Live chat 2 weeks ago offered me £74.50 said best can do so I said no and cancelled.
Anyway spoke to a guy today on the number given sky.com/reviewmyoptions

    03337 594 464

Told the guy I wanted everything I still had, he said £76, he then said ok thats about what you were offered I said yes thats too much.  Then said right lets migrate you over and see what price cpmes up.  Got to £66.50 which I was happy with, he also threw in a new UHD sky q box, as mine is the original sky q box for free, then he applied the sports offer and he said ok its even better now as the ultimate on demand ( netflix etc ) has bought it down to £61!  He advised I call in month 17 to haggle again,  he also said I am exempt from april 2020 price rises.  So here below is my current bill before the discounts shown above.  Stick to your guns.  £115 down to £61.  Only been with them 18 months this time round.  Hope this helps

Just got a good deal with sky.
Had a family package since I dunno when which has crept up to £25.50 mo and got a letter today increasing it by £2.20 to £27.70 so I decided that I'd had enough.

So I phoned to cancel and got passed through to retentions.

Without any effort on my part (except insisting that I'd had enough) I was offered their "signature" package for £17 which has a lot more channels that we previous had, it also includes box sets and Sky go and we get a shiny new Sky Q box for a £10 set up fee.

We don't have sports or films so I'm quite pleased to save £10 a month for the next 18 months and get an upgraded package

With Sky for 3 years, but my package is going to £130.  I currently have fastest broadband, Sky Q and mini-box, full entertainment package, movies and sports, but Virgin are offering the same package for £79 plus £125 credit (till 11-03).  Being reasonable I call Sky and I waited for 32 mins before I got to through to the "normal" help. 10 mins with them and lots of umms & ahhhs best she could do was £86 with the same stuff, so a further 5 min wait till I got through to retentions (surprised they answered the phone with that department name).  Another person and another load of questions and they came up with the best deal which was £88 which makes me really disappointed.
So Mr Sky let me see if I get this right retentions came up with a deal £2/month more than normal Sky contact centre definitely confused exactly how does that work????
Therefore, as they cannot give me a good deal today I will quit and will sign-up with Virgin.  Going through Quidco should give me £200 cashback, so based on Skys quote today of £88 vs Virgin £55 (that is £79 for 12 months plus £125 credit less £35 installation plus Quidco £200 cashback) that's hopefully £396 per year better off with virtually no change in what I get.  The only difference is that Sky has Sky Atlantic and I do watch a couple of programs on that, but £396 is a dammed persuasive argument and you never know Sky may ask me back in 12 months.
