You need to give 31 days notice anyway so even if you do want to leave it can't be before the 14th of April in any event.
You can contact Sky whenever you like if you're out of contract, sometimes you may be able to have a new deal take effect from the next billing date even if you're in a minimum term so phone them up after the 14th and see what happens.
Note that Sky is not the be all and end all of digital TV.  You may be able to do better elsewhere depending on what you watch.

As soon as your notice has expired and you have left they will send you an offer in about a week.

That is the only way to get the best deal. Even if you know what the deal is (it is not hard to find out) and ask for it. They will make you leave to get it.

If that's not an option then anytime after your term has expired but don't expect much.

I certainly hope so. My main concern was avoiding the prices rises this April/May which was confirmed. I’m less confident next year they won’t go up.

If you hope you are then I would check all the paperwork/letters and emails from Sky to be very sure and also the T & C's as if that is the case then I could see tens of 1,000's Sky customers getting their existing packages onto new fixed price with no price increases contracts for the whole term without the worry of price rises.
  • Spent about 4 and a half hours on live chat yesterday, the first hour waiting patiently....
Wanted to cancel due to cost
Anyway, I haggled the entertainment from £29 to £15
Sky HD from £6pm to £2pm
SkyQ multiscreen is in contact at £14pm
Ultimate OD from £12 to £8pm
Broadband I am in contract until 2021 so cannot change that, this is £27.
Halved the admin fee from £20 to £10 as 'gesture of goodwill'
So my overall monthly bill has gone from £88 to £66
    Savings as of April 2023 Savings account - £26460.50(14474.88)Current account - £2140.24(4576.79)Total - £28600.74(19051.67) £1010 (£65pm CS/BS) £250 CS/BS/JS
  • Don’t worry I will be. Everything they’ve sent me so far has been wrong. Already sent in a complaint.

Did you not choose HD on the Ent package?
Did you renew on phone or the online chat?
