I have cancelled my package. Anyone with a similar package achieved a better price?
Sky are offering an 18 month deal.
    Entertainment £13 + £2 HD
    Sky Sports HD £19
    Total £32
Got the exact same deal for £26.
Can you break package down please?
18 month deal/old sky box/just renewed also useful..
     :)
It sounds like a 'standard' offer, I turned down £26/month (Sports & Entertainment in HD) as I have an old box and won't sign an 18 month deal with it. With Sky Q they wanted £32/month! I told them to stuff it, I've been out of contract about a month.
When you say ,"standard" offer, I presume you mean after the cancellation has actually happened and the signal is switched off? I ended up accepting £33 pm for Entertainment/Sport/box sets in HD yesterday instead of giving the 31 days notice ("old" HD box)

£26 pm is a discount of ~63% on the published prices, I decided that I'd settle for ~54%  :)    - I have a spare HD box to fall back on ,if the current one fails

    Ent  £15
    Sports £8
    Sports HD £2
    Ent HD £1
18 month deal, existing HD box, not Q. I went without Sky for 8 months as I couldn't get a reasonable deal, got this one in the post. Its going up to £29 with increases in April.
  • I currently have a SKY+2Tb box and I am not in any contract currently, but I received a random email last week from SKY offering me a SQY Q box for free, and offering it me with no set up fees, and no need to take out any other packages, and no further tie ins.
I was a bit sceptical, but I made the call to see what was what, and yes she told me that as I had been with them for over 10 years I could have a SKYQ box, with no further conditions, and keep my current package - which is SKY entertainment + HD + Box Sets + Sky Go Extra 4 devices, for the continuing price of £21.75 - no contract / no tie in.
I asked the obviouss question, why ??  She said that they were just trying to move everyone over to SKY Q, and currently this is an offer for Sky members that have been with them for a while on the same package.    Anyone else had this offer and taken it out?

Are you absolutely certain the Sky Q box does not come with an 18 month contract. That is an old Sky trick to stop you from cancelling to get a better deal when you other packages run out.

Thats why I questioned it.  And she said absoluteley not.  She confirmed to me that I am not currently in any contract, and that would stay the same.  She said this is just a SKY VIP promotion, and I will not be enterted into any new contract if I accept the SKYQ box.  She also confiirmed that there would be no charge for the box or installations (except if i wasn't in when they come to install, then i would get some kind of charge).  Plus the email (image attached) also didn't mention any tie ins either when you clicked redeem.
The only downside I can see is that I will be going from a 2tb box (my current SKY+) to a 1TB, and I will lose all my current recordings, as no way to transfer them.  To be honest I am not entirely sure of the advantages of switching boxes, other than my current one is now quite old.

I agree. I`m against moving to Q as my current set up utilises the RF2 output on the Sky+HD box to feed other TV`s to give ability to watch Sky in 5 other rooms (albeit can only watch the 1 channel, which isn`t an issue for us).
I believe if I moved to Sky Q I`d need to pay £12(?) extra p/m for multi room and purchase 4 mini boxes, all just to give me the same set up I`m currently on but with little benefit to me (4k?, ability to watch more than 1 channel, 2 tb box?).

Don't understand this ; £21.75 pm is not the standard price for Entertainment plus Box sets in HD let alone Sky Go Extra.
So you must be on some sort of deal with an end date???

Yes - it was a 50% retention deal agreed when I last was in contract (about 3 or 4 years ago) - and was awarded for 5 years fixed until Jan 2023.  Originally it was about £18 or £19, but each year its gone up a bit in April.  She confirmed this also to me when we spoke, and she said that's why she wouldn't advise me to take out any new services, as it would mean losing this excellent long term discounted deal.  She then went on to say that i could take out broadband with them without affecting my current deal.  She also confirmed that i could have the SKYQ box also without it affecting my current .not in contract. deal.  Apparently it all relates to my SKY VIP Platinum membership discount status.  But don't ask me how.  (actually current package also includes kids, but i forget that as dont use it)

My current Sky deal ends on 2 May, so will be putting in my cancellation on 2nd April.
Question is, can i give them 31 days notice now, to commence on 2nd April or do i have to wait until 2nd April?
    I hope that makes sense
    Thanks

You have to wait until 31 days away.

I gave my notice notice on the 2nd Feb. Will end on 3rd March.
