I was hoping for a like-for-like comparison for the full TV package, so I did scroll up but wanted a recent comparison. Sky are not moving much at the moment...
On the '/mydeal' retention page, I only see a link to call/chat - when should the online offer show up (I requested cancellation 1 week ago)?0 -
Hi all, my in laws been with sky forever and now struggling a bit with their prices, they do love their tv though, so I have offered to try and get them a deal. I have been reading through the offers etc.but I wanted to get some opinions before I go into battle with them! lol
This is their current package.
Sky TV
Boxsets £41.50
Sports Complete £28
HD Basic £0
Multiscreen £!3
Sky Go Extra £0 (Discounted from £5)
Broadband & Talk
Line Rental £18.99
Fibre UNlimited £15 (Discounted from £22)
Sky Talk Anytime Extra £10
Total Monthly Price £126.49
Their must keeps are
Normal TV (bbc ITV etc)
HD
Multiroom (they have separate living rooms!)
Use of the phone
Internet, but unlimited could be overkill, they just check emails. no streaming etc.
What are your thoughts please?
Thanks

Then you need to go back to at least page 150 which is only around a month ago as there are plenty of similar examples rather than just scroll up the current page.0 -

If they truly don't watch any of the Sky channels such as Sky One or Atlantic for instance and they don't record then 2 Freeview TVs and standard BB would cost them £18 a month from NowTV (for the phone line and broadband which includes Anytime Calls).
You can get the broadband and line for an effective £10 or so but without the calls package(I think) but you have to chase up the cashback/rewards.
Better than paying £126.49 a month?

Edit: Sky are now throwing in HD+ boxes with the record feature enabled with their BB deals so they'd be able to record on 1 TV at least. Just use Freeview for the other TV.Enterprise_1701C wrote: »We stayed with VM last time when they offered us our current deal for £22pm. Then when that finished it doubled. We can't leave at the moment because we can't risk losing the phone, but we will be leaving them just around Christmas time and jumping to Sky. We have been offered the very basic Sky+ box, broadband and phone (complete with 7 day calls to geographical numbers and UK mobiles for £26 a month guaranteed for 3 years. Saves a lot of hassle.
So even if VM offer us a good deal we will not be staying with them.0 -

Hi Colin, I've a friend who gets their BB from NowTV, I sent them over from Sky last year. I know they can't afford SkyTV but would like the ability to use a Sky box for freeview/recording. How much is the Sky deal or do you have a link?
My Sky deal is up soon and I'll have to haggle, how does Messenger work with Sky, do I like their page or some such? Normally I phone them.0 -

I was just passing on information from @Enterprise 1701C, it's not on their homepage so I'm guessing it was perhaps a targeted offer(email, call or post). Perhaps your friend would need to call them and enquire if they're out of minimum term with NowTV.smallblueplanet wrote: »My Sky deal is up soon and I'll have to haggle, how does Messenger work with Sky, do I like their page or some such? Thanks Colin, yeah they will both want Sky+ recording, it is just so easy for them to use. Does anyone know would I be able to negotiate for them on the phone? If my mother in-law the account holder gives them permission to talk to me?0 -

Yes of course they'll talk to you but you're best off both being there at the same time.
You can but ask them but I suspect the multi-room requirement would be a sticking point. They might be better off buying at least 1 Humax Freesat recordable box and go for the HD+ box from Sky. This is presuming they currently have HD+ boxes BTW as the LNB on the dish is different for Q systems (usually anyway, there are hybrid LNB's but the odds are it wont be).
That said if they've still got 2 HD+ boxes you could ask if they'll activate the recording functions on both boxes. All it takes from their end is to click on a couple of boxes.
Do let us know how you get on, I'm finding Sky's stance recently interesting with the changing market.0 -
Currently have Sky+ Entertainment with HD for £16 a month until Aug 20.
I am looking to upgrade to Sky Q with the current Black Friday deal. Cheapest I can get is the following:
Sky Q Experience £6.50 and 2TB box + 2 mini boxes (£110 up front)
So effectively £22.50 a month and £110 up front into an 18 month contract.
Question I have is regarding the existing contract. My Sky Entertainment will jump up to £27 in Aug 20 (so £33.50 with SkyQ) So I will still be locked in the 18 Month Sky Q contract. Sky Advisor said just ring Sky Value team in Aug 20 to get a better deal ont he entertainment.
My question is has anyone had any success with this yet? My concern is that my bargaining tool to leave will not be there and I might be better skipping Black Friday and waiting until Aug 20 to upgrade.0 -
Can anyone offer any advice, I am at my wits end trying to negotiate with these people!
We are platinum VIP customers, I negotiated a deal early 2018 so that we were paying £64pcm for our package, now that the deal has ended, its jumped back up to £108pcm which is too much.
We have SkyQ 2TB, 2 x mini boxes, fibre max and land line. We don't want to remove anything from our package, we have what we want.
We currently pay (now that our £64 deal has ended) -
Entertainment £26.95
Ultimate on demand (Inc netflix) £12
Kids £5
HD £5
Multiscreen £13
Line rental £18.99
Fibre Max £22
Eve & w/end calls £5
TOTAL £107.94
I called up and asked for a new deal or we would be cancelling and was told this is the best they can do -
Entertainment £22. 00
Ultimate on demand (Inc netflix) £12
Kids £5
HD £5
Multiscreen £13
Line rental £0
Fibre Max Inc line rental £32
Eve & w/end calls £5
TOTAL £94.00
I said its still too much, said I wanted to cancel and was told ok that's fine. I have spoken to them via Facebook messenger, the messaging service on their website, and the "value team" and been told repeatedly that that's the best deal and it's that or cancel.
Do you think it is? It still seems high to me. But who do I speak to to get anything better?!0
