I have been offered
entertainment £12
complete sports £15
Superfast broadband £27 free line rental
free anytime extra calls
waived £20 admin fee
is this a good deal?
Thats the standard deal everyone seems to be getting if they 'Aggle
dont think it can be improved upon.
Colin, or anyone that may know, as seen above i've got a new 18 month deal, but have 2 quoestions:-
1) my new 'superfast' broadband is no faster than my old fibre setup, i'm getting around 35mbps. How much more is superfast, and do i have a cooling off period on just this part of my new deal?
2) although ive not had much time to see, i'm not sure if even at £15 a month i'm going to use my sky sports package. How long is my cooling off period for this, and has anyone been offered it any less if you ask to cancel it?0 -

As for super fast fibre i think Sky only do 2 broadband options now and they are ADSL(Essential) and super fast one.
The Super fast speed depends on if BT/Openreach have upgraded your local network.
I don't think you will be offered any anything less for the Sports pack and i think it was 14 days cooling off period but you may have to cancel everything or drop the Sports but they may offer you less discount for what you want than what you are paying now.
It is a gamble you take with Sky.0 -
Not really retention, more returning customer, but just called Sky to see what they could offer me after receiving the "Comeback for £15" letters for the last 6 months.
They offered
Entertainment £15
Kids £1
Box Set £1
HD £1
Cinema £10
Talk Anytime Free
Superfast BB £27
BB Boost £2
Totalling £57 pm
SKY Q 2TB box and Q Hub loaned and free installation
Looking at Black Friday Deals and I think I could have got £62 for all that and Netflix.
Virgin have countered with £29 for 50Mb and Talk Anytime which matches Sky's cost, and better speeds.
What's people's thoughts on mixing Sky Q and Virgin BB?0 -
No success from me,I cant complain as ive had free line rental, free standard ADSL over the years,my £8.99 deal ended last month, and boy are sky not budging this year, £20 pm 18 month standard or £27 for super fast both £10 charge.

Considering it's exactly the same service and even uses the same router I'd jump ship to NowTV in an instant.
Edit: actually you get Anytime Calls package with NowTV if you use your house phone at all.0 -

Hi
I have just taken out a new 18 month contract with Sky after saying I would leave. The offer I got was £36 pcm for TV package (broadband is with another provider) - Entertainment Bundle, Sky Sports for £36pcm.
A friend has emailed my partner a Sky Friends & Family code that we could use . Is it worth me cancelling the new contract within the first 14 days cooling off period and signing up for the same package in my partner's name. Does anyone know how much I'm likely to save with the F&F code, thanks.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
We have been paying over £100 a month for Sky tv. We had the full package.
After reading the guide recently on haggling I called Sky up to cancel the account.
I was put through to the retentions department and after about an hour on the phone I will now be paying £58 a month and that’s with everything including Netflix, Cinema, sports, entertainment, ultimate box sets and multiroom.
It means a new contract for 18 months but I’m still happy with what I got.
I am so glad I read the article as we’ve never given it a thought before. I was paying for years and still would’ve carried on.
So than you so much Martin your an angel.

Pay £36 pcm for whole Sky+ package except movies, have doon for a few years now.
Went onto Chat yesterday, added Movies at price of £9 extra pcm, closed chat then called up to put in my 31 days notice to cancel movies.
Meaning the kids have Movies over Xmas holidays.
Just thought I`d add here as it might be useful to anyone else.3.975 kWp System, South facing, 21 degree pitch, 15 x Canadian Solar Elps, Samil Inverter, location NE Scotland (Fraserburgh) Bring on the Sun :beer:0
