Has anyone had their discounted period end, eg £55 and then it jumped to £120 BUT managed to get Sky to refund you? As I had asked them to notify me of any price changes when the discount was ending, but I did not receive any warning.

    Thanks,
    Jon

Nope, it is your responsibility to either cancel or get a new deal, not sky's

Diarise like everyone else and haggle

Which box did this get you? and what level VIP are you. I had this quote for £46, no new box though. So yours seems much better.
I'm gold, been with them 8 years. It was for a standard Sky+ box.
  • I'm about to begin my merry dance with Sky. I'm currently paying the following:-

    SKY Entertainment £22
SKY Sports - Complete Pack £15
    SKY Sports HD FREE
    SKY HD £1
    See It First (??) FREE
    SKY+ Subscription FREE

    Total = £38/month

At the end of this month the whole lot above is going up to £66 (Entertainment £27, Sports £28, Sports HD £6, SKY HD £5).

Have gone on Facebook messenger but it's REALLY slow responding - don't want to call them as I HATE speaking to them. Anyone know of alternative methods of contacting them now that 'Chat' has gone?

Ok so I started the game - and it's been surprising. I went straight in and said I wanted to pay no more than what I am paying now. The chat agent came back with:-

    Sky Entertainment £15
    Sky Sports £17
    HD £1
    and ..
    Super Fibre £27

I told them that was already in a contract at £23/month with Virgin. They offered me £100 to buy me out of my Virgin Broadband contract.
I've worked out that it'll cost me over £200 to break my Virgin deal so that's a non-starter, plus my I can't get Super Fibre where I live - that's why I'm with Virgin.

So, I've gone back to them and told them I can't have the Fibre but I'm happy to take the Entertainment and Sports deal. Waiting for another reply now.....somehow I don't think they are going to give me that on it's own.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that they'll offer the same deal minus the fibre.

Colin, you are right! They offered me the TV deal without the Broadband. They wanted to charge £20 admin fee though - but I got that reduced to £10 via a credit to my account.

They initial screwed up my new contract - trying to charge me £22 each for both Entertainment and Sports but I think they've sorted it out now; fingers crossed.

I'm happy. Easiest haggle I've EVER had with Sky!

Just given my notice as Sky won't match or come close to my current deal:
    Sky Ent
    Kids
    HD
    Cinema
    Sports
    +1 Multiscreen

    (so everything except Boxsets)

I can't remember the exact breakdown, but it is £52/month, but they are offering a 'deal' for £65/month.

Since giving my cancellation, I have contacted them by phone and live chat but they don't budge from the £65. I am willing to drop Sports (as F1 is ending and WWE is going to BT from next year).

I know I should wait until the actual termination, but so I can compare I'd like to find out what offers others are getting?
  • Hi

Is chat no longer available for haggling?

    Many thanks

    Not until you've actually cancelled I don't think ???

Anyway, yesterday I used the Facebook messenger to haggle and to be honest I quite liked it - no pressure to reply immediately, you can take your time.

You're in a thread that literally details offers for Sky from various people with differing packages, just go back a few pages.

I think chat is no more, I like FB messenger myself for the same reason.
