I am on 75% ending next month. This is what they have offered....

    £22 Sky Entertainment
    £1 Sky Box Sets
    £1 Sky Kids
    £1 Sky HD
£18 Sky Sports Complete Pack in HD

That's £43 per month in a new 18 month contract with a one off £20 admin fee on the next bill for me to apply these offers.

I will be cancelling and if they don't improve offer, goodbye Sky!
  • 40% off deal was coming to an end so started the haggling ridiculousness again... painful.
Guy on live chat offered me a 7p per month reduction (not a typo) for 18 months with a £10 fee.
He argued that it was the best “deal” available, blah blah blah... cancelled there & then.

Wrote an email to Jeremy Daroch, got a call from Trisha from the executive office who was equally unhelpful... the call descended into an argument as to whether it was ever appropriate for a customer to ask for a deal; not just from Sky but from anyone. Trisha was adamant that she’d been with the same energy company, the same car insurer and the same home insurer for 20+ years and had never called to query her price. Obviously I didn’t believe her so asked for her manager.

The conversation with Derek went exactly how you might expect, yes he can do a deal (50% off, 18 months, no fee), yes, the deal “culture” exist to retain customers an the reps job is to retain custom through the best deal available to them or escalate to someone with access to a better deal. He also acknowledged that Trisha could have handled the call differently, if she had wanted to.

Who knows how hard it will be in 18 months?

My discount was due to finish next month, been paying 13.40 for variety, been on live chat all morning, was offered 18 a month first, gave my notice and was then offered 13 a month, happy with that !

  • Not long joined, any help appreciated.

I currently have sky HD. sports including F1, HD sports and variety channels.

To my disgust (I really ought to be checking my bank statement more often) I've been paying £63.50 a month for this.

phoned them up, best they will do is £43 for 6 months then £45 month after that. I said no thanks that's still too much I'll cancel. I am out of contract, so no penalties.

At the moment I have cancelled, all due to en in 30 days.

What should (could) I be paying for this please?

    TIA

you should be looking for a minimum of a 60% discount, 75% if you are lucky.

About 18 months ago, I had a very similar conversation with Sky Retentions expressing disbelief that I wanted to haggle:rotfl:

Fascinating how anybody can put that argument forward. The Press has been full of stories re Insurance Co. renewal rip offs for instance.

I have Variety, HD & F1 only, now paying £29.75 for 18 months, previously £33 ish.
From past and recent experience, each level of retentions have access to better deals (Derek the sky manager said exactly this to me yesterday).
Depends how hard you’re prepared to push.

Sorry but that's nonsense, maybe 50% best offer and you have to struggle to get that.
