I have just been through this over the last couple of days.
    Sky's best offer was;
Entertainment pack £22 (£15 for new customers)
    HD £2 (£5 for new)
    Boxsets £2 (£10 for new)
    Cinema £10 (£10 for new)
    Fibre £12
Line Rental £19 (£27 combined for new)
    Extra Q box £12 (£12 for new)
so that's a total of £79, the same price as a new customer just split differently.
It's also the same price as Virgin, where you also get a second box but you also get BT Sports and Sky Sports.
They did offer me sky sports HD for £18 a month, a £5 discount...
Not rewarding any loyalty at all after my meagre 4 years with Sky.

My cancellation notice has therefore been given.
I don't understand why they are not discounting any more when it they are going to lose out here, seems like a very strange strategy!

OK, so for anyone else attempting to get a good deal, as a background I had originally called the number in the MSE guide. There are two options, option 2 (I tried first) sent me through to the team who would look at my package and negotiate a deal, they came up with something very similar to the above , i.e. not good enough.
I then called back (I had to travel so I couldn't handle the wait time) and chose option 1 which is to cancel. They then went through a similar exercise and came up with the above deal. Computer says No etc...
I just tried the link /mydeal (I'm a new user, I can't post links here) which I saw a reference to from mrb1972 on page 114 of this thread.
This may only work because I had cancelled my package, because the link takes me to; mysky-comeback slash pending-cancel
Now bear in mind I have only cancelled my TV package as that requires a 31 notice period, the Phoneline/broadband is 14 days so I will call back for that.
    The NEW offer that allegedly no-one in retentions could get anywhere near is now;
Entertainment pack £15 (same as new, meh, but still £7 improvement from before)
HD pack £1 (£4 better than new and £1 improvement from before)
Boxsets (including Netflix) £1 (£9 better than new and £1 improvement from before)
Cinema £9 (£1 better than new and £1 improvement from before)
Sky sports £17 (£6 better than new and £1 improvement from before)
However, if I get Cinema AND Sports, it's £21, saving another £5.
So this takes me to £38 a month, much more like it!!! (allegedly should be £72)
Also, ONLY the entertainment pack is TWELVE month minimum contract (i.e. not 18), everything else is rolling 31 days, flexible!

I could get kids for £1 but I don't need it...

So, I've accepted the deal, I will need to call them and confirm my second sky Q box as no mention there... however, importantly, it will all be "reactivated" (my subscription doesn't end until next month) within 3 days, but no mention of this £10/£20 admin fee, and it's NOT in the small print either. double result.
What's even better is that I was complaining because I could get Virgin for £79 a month, however Virgin don't actually service my house :rotfl:

    Happy days!

Just been offered £11pm for Entertainment and £17pm for Sky sports with a £10 admin fee on a 12 month deal.

That’s great. I have been haggling on behalf of my uncle whose previous offers were coming to an end. He had Talk (no internet), Variety and Sports package.

Retention offers last month weren’t good so we cancelled everything. I’ve been keeping an eye out on his account for offers and there was a £15 offer for Entertainment for 12 months. I’d convinced him to do away with the landline completely and use a mobile instead and he’s not that fussed about Sports at the mo, just wants to be able to watch TV with the Sky+ function. Went to redeem the offer yesterday and it reverted to £22. Went on online chat today and they said they could do it for £15 but with a £10 admin charge. I argued that that made the offer nearer to £16 a month so the advisor said while he couldn’t remove the charge he could reduce the Entertainment to £13 so I accepted.

I was chuffed with that but your £11 deal is brilliant! Maybe we should have waited until his subscription actually ended.

These admin charges are ridiculous. Had they just given us £15 a month with no admin charge they’d have got more money! They’re shooting themselves in the foot.

That's the sort of deal that I am after
Was it done via LIVE CHAT ?
Did you actually cancel or was it just contract expiry/renewal time ?
I was offered Sport at £14.25 on Entertainment at £22 - presumably with a £10 admin FINE !!

These figures appear to be random - do they have a random number generator or is there a pattern to them ?

Entertainment pack for new customers is currently £22 for 18 months so even better than you thought.

Surprised it's only 12 months as they seem determined to tie people in for 18 months at the moment. Although you could argue getting it for 18 months would be better anyway but that would depend on individuals circumstances I suppose.

Be aware that they will charge an extra £12 for the multiroom.

The "Admin Fee" is only chargeable when you speak to an actual agent, if you do it yourself online they don't charge (subject to them changing it of course...)

Edit: that's a good deal BTW.

I've not seen it for a while, they seem to have moved to facebook messenger or chat by text... conversations take a long time!

The "admin fee" thing is totally crazy.
I paid the £10 admin fee (sort of!) back in October - initially I refused the deal offered which included the fee, and made it clear that it was a deal breaker.
After a bit of to and fro, the Customer Service agent still couldn't remove it BUT when she realised that I was serious about the cancellation, she "found" an extra £2 pm discount over 18 months - so overall I was £26 better off:) Go figure ..............

Considering Basic sky "entertainment" is £22-25
This could be a good option for some ?

call them up and use it to price match!

I just called as I hadn't received any email confirmations on accepting my above offer, they said it hadn't gone to my registered email address but a different one and were asking me what that email ID was, they refused to tell me!
They spent a long time trying to match the deal I had accepted (thankfully I took a screenshot), and in the end managed to get the TV package down to £48 a month including the second Q box. I also renewed my phone/fibre at a little bit of a high rate for £30.99. And they could only do the 18 month contracts too, but actually i'm happy to be locked in for longer and not have to do this again for a while...

So the bottom line is the cancellations team are able to discount further if the deal is in front of them, they just didn't want to last week. They've stepped up the haggling game :)
