I have accepted a £45 offer for the full package - to start on 4th Feb, when my current contract expires...
This should also get me round next months price rise - since, presumably - they will have to honour this price ?

In Sky's T&C's it used to quote that they can raise prices by upto 10% before the client could leave penalty free.

I think that may have changed now(but i am not 100% on this) and as a side issue as you have paid a £10 admin fee to get this deal that is a good price for you if the prices go up and you leave will you have to pay another £10 fee to cancel as it will still be an admin job to do this?

Also you say that the "new" price will start on 4/02/2019 when the old one ends. How did you get them to do this as in the past for me when i got a deal the deal started straight away and could not be added/started after the current deal is active only on the day the client got the deal from Sky.

Things may have changed since last August.

What about cancellation / cooling off rights - after an upgrade ?
    I can always threaten this .... I believe that I have a month ?

Then there's a fairly decent chance they'll say Sayōnara.

Then they will lose out to freeview - I have been a paying sky customer for 16 years !!

I simply asked them to start the contract when my present one expires !!
They have messed me around way too much in the last week or so - with different offers and different combinations from different teams - that I am fed up with the whole lot of them..
Why can't they just set a figure and stick to it ?

Its the £10 admin fee that really gets my goat..
They just add it on - for no reason
I am considering complaining to Ofcom about it - don't know whether they will be interested but it won't hurt.....
    Typical :
Ofcom doesn't have the powers to investigate these matters. If your complaint can't be resolved with your provider, you may wish to contact Citizens Advice or seek independent legal advice.

That would be like dialling 999 and complaining about the queues in your local Asda, it's absolutely nothing to do with them.

They can charge anything they like and if you don't like it then you're free to refuse to take the service, the balls in their court then. I've personally twice refused to pay it for different services and had it waived both times. April/May(?) will be my next contact and I'll happily leave and ask for my PAC at the same time.

My bill has just gone up from £33.40 a month to £83.50 :(

Was offered £44 a month for 18 months to stay on my current package (sports, movies, hd and box sets) - how does that sound compared to what others have been offered? Not as good as the £33 I was paying before which was 60% discount but seems reasonable at almost 50% saving.

Same here...... think i'd had this £33.40 deal for about 2 years.....

    Time to haggle again?

I thought that they were limited to RPI - because they are seen by many as a necessity...
They appear to be oblivious to decency and just increase costs willy-nilly

First painful 45 mins via the slow live chat...... They said they could replace my current £33.40 sports, movies, hd and box sets package for £70/month. Errrr no!

He said that was the best deal available to him, but I could call the 'values' team.

The expert team you are looking for is available on calls at 03300 413 000. Once you dial the above number please ask for values team and you will get connected to them and one of my colleagues over the phone will assist you further. 08:30am to 8pm

I get the feeling this is going to be a long haul. :(

It will be, just cancel, seems to be the easiest route! I was on the phone a few hours in total before just doing that.
Looking at the above and my latest experience you should be looking at about £78 for everything included...
Theoretically my entire TV package for everything came out at £38 a month, multiroom £10, Phone/Fibre £30 (overpriced but they did that to bring the TV pack down).

What's the "Admin Fee" got to do with RPI? And just because this mythical "many" consider TV and/or BB a necessity doesn't actually make it so.

Big business has never ever equated to "decency" so I've no idea why you'd think they should.
