Been on chat this morning and offered entertainment £15, box sets £1, kids £1, HD £1 and cinema £9 total £27pm. I kept pushing but she would not budge from this offer.
I sincerely doubt any "come back" offer will beat that to be honest. Remember, if you continually haggle a deal each year Sky will stop offering the most generous discounts.

I therefore doubt you'll see any significant change in your offer next month, so enjoy your alternatives

Is NOW TV "entertainment" package - identical to a normal SKY "entertainment" package ?
  • I looked at VM and they do a VIP bundle for £89.
Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, BT Sports, Loads of channels- top package. AND 350 mbps fibre- miles better than Sky.
So £1 cheaper- is it worth the hassle?
On the flip side, getting Sky Cinema, Kids and a faster broadband speed.
AND VM do 12 month contracts instead of 18 months like sky.
    .

Virgin have further reduced this to £79.

Sky on-line chat is not exactly quick at responding today - I have been waiting for 15 minutes with a pop up every minute, telling me "an operative will be with you shortly..."

    Second Anniversary
I have just been through this over the last couple of days.
    Sky's best offer was;
Entertainment pack £22 (£15 for new customers)
    HD £2 (£5 for new)
    Boxsets £2 (£10 for new)
    Cinema £10 (£10 for new)
    Fibre £12
Line Rental £19 (£27 combined for new)
    Extra Q box £12 (£12 for new)
so that's a total of £79, the same price as a new customer just split differently.
It's also the same price as Virgin, where you also get a second box but you also get BT Sports and Sky Sports.
They did offer me sky sports HD for £18 a month, a £5 discount...
Not rewarding any loyalty at all after my meagre 4 years with Sky.

My cancellation notice has therefore been given.
I don't understand why they are not discounting any more when it they are going to lose out here, seems like a very strange strategy!

Thats what really bugs me with these companies
New customers are treated far more favourably than long term customers - I have been with sky for 16 years and a new customer gets a better deal than I do.....
They are still trying to doing rip me off - by telling me that they can do me a superb /unbeatable offer on ALL Sport by a 50% discount - at just £14.25 - but I have seen ALL sport at just £23 (https://www.sky.com/shop/tv/sports) - which, wih 50% discount is just £11.50

I’ve seen better recently and in any case this offer isn’t available anymore, cinemas gone up £2 which on principle I won’t agree to. For the past few years after cut off the offers have been better, this is the first year it hasn’t. But when I had everything for £20 the other year I’m not paying £29 without sports. And yes I certainly intend on enjoying my alternatives!!

No you get less channels but as far as I can tell all the main ones, sky 1, Atlantic, Fox, are included. Also you can’t record programmes but they are available to watch on catch up after they’ve been on. As I don’t watch live tv anyway, only things I’ve recorded, I’m hoping it will be a suitable alternative. At £14.99 for the smart stick and a 2 month entertainment pass, i certainly think it’s worth a try. I’ll be setting mine up tonight so fingers crossed.

Sky don't want to play ball with me today!
I currently have the Boxsets bundle, HD and multiroom along with fibre unlimited and with discounts am paying £52 per month. Next month the offers finish and it will rise to £81.50. The guy had a look and said the best deal they could offer for the same package was £79. Not especially impressive...
The fibre unlimited is in contract until August but he said there would be no charge for cancelling it earlier.
We can't get Virgin here but looking on BT's website I can get their equivalent broadband plus the Max HD bundle (with free BT sport) for £49.99 in their sale.
I'm feeling that I can't be bothered to play games with Sky and may as well cut to the chase and sign up with BT.

Sky offered me a deal - of £22 for entertainment (something that is available to all) + (supposedly) half price Sports (at £14.25 - which implies that full price for sport is a ridiculous £28.50) - but, since ALL sport is available at £23 (https://www.sky.com/shop/tv/sports) - this is NOT a half price deal - and ties me in to an 18 month contract.
Also - Sky are asking for a £10 admin fee - which I strongly resent !!
I have been with Sky for 16 years.... and have got far worse offers than a new customer.

So I have informed CEO that I am disgusted with my treatment and am staying on LEGACY of Entertainment and F1 @ £33 - this is no tied in to any contract - so I can leave with a months notice !
