Cancelled my SKY Q today, when should I expect any offers to stay? If any?

Cancelled mine last week and only had a offer on the Sky Q box for Sky Entertainment for £15 a month on a 12 month contract.

Contacted via messenger a few times and no offers, they have said I will have to revert my cancellation in order for them to see any.

Going to have to play hard ball this time after 8 years of having good deals and let it cancel and await any offers then from the winback team.

I have an offer under /mydeal which is £39 12 months for everything (except multiroom) but i "found" that offer rather than anything popping up on screen

Where abouts on the Sky Q box did you see the offer?
  • Ok so it's that time of year again. I did my research, read back over the past few months posts to get an idea of offers and priced up Now Tv. My 60% off box sets and cinema was ending so I rang to cancel last week. Was paying £23.50pm and it was jumping to £57.50. They initially offered £33 for equivalent package which I rejected and went ahead with cancellation.

Been on chat this morning and offered entertainment £15, box sets £1, kids £1, HD £1 and cinema £9 total £27pm. I kept pushing but she would not budge from this offer. Genuinely think it was the best she had but I still turned it down.

So now to wait and see if anything better comes along. I might give online chat ago over the weekend, try and get through to India this time and see if they have better offers. Otherwise I'll have to try again once it's gone off.

Has there been much difference between the offers during cancellation period and once it actually goes off this year?

Ok so I answered my own question. TV went off today and I went on live chat to see what offers they had to tempt me back. I was offered Entertainment £15; Kids £1; Box sets £1; HD £1; Cinema £11 on a 12 month contract. Which is £2 more than when in my cancellation period. I tried all my previously successful tactics, quoted better deals, friends deals and asked for account credit but no success. Obviously I declined and am going to play hardball for a bit. Definitely the most difficult year for getting deals. Hard to justify the expense when now tv have 6 months entertainment and cinema for £51.
  • I'm really torn on staying with Sky Q.

I cancelled my Sky TV a couple of days ago, after the retentions deal was poor.

I was in a 18 month contract, for Sky Broadband, with 14 months remaining. I contacted them today to say I wanted to cancel my broadband- and pay the early termination charge.

They then did me a broadband deal.
Sky Fibre Max £6.01 for 18 months
Phone Line £8.99 for 12 months and then £18.99 for 6 months.

I said I wanted to keep my tv and broadband together.

So then they did me a tv deal to go with it.

    SKY Q
    Entertainment £22 for 18 months
    Boxsets £5 for 18 months
    Sports £22 for 18 months
    Multiscreen -£12 for 18 months

    All, totalling £76. Thoughts?

    - However, I also need to pay BT Sports £13.99 as a separate subscription to BT.
So paying £90 in actual fact.

    I am really torn.

I looked at VM and they do a VIP bundle for £89.
Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, BT Sports, Loads of channels- top package. AND 350 mbps fibre- miles better than Sky.
So £1 cheaper- is it worth the hassle?
On the flip side, getting Sky Cinema, Kids and a faster broadband speed.
AND VM do 12 month contracts instead of 18 months like sky.

One consideration I have, is the amount it would cost to rejoin sky, on the package I have now.
Did a quick sky package as a new customer for everything.
£85 with offers, £123.99 without offers.
One off costs... £218.95... YES... You read that correctly. Extortionate!

If I could tweet a couple of the prices, I'd stay with SKY. E.g Sports for £20, Free HD, Entertainment for £18. etc.

The fibre deal is good, the 'TV deal' is awful.

    Another "offer" from sky :
I have checked your account and the best we can give you with the F1 channel, the entertainment package and HD would be 45.00GBP per month.
The breakdown of the costs would be:
Entertainment bundle at 22.00GBP instead of 25.00GBP on 18 month offer
    Sky HD 5.00GBP
Sky Sports Complete bundle 18.00GBP instead of 28.00GBP on an 18 month offer
Sky Sports HD free for 18 months instead of 6.00GBP.
The offers do come with a one off offer admin fee of 10.00GBP that would be added onto your next billing.

I have had a thought - is it worth me cancelling and then a week later, opening a new account and benefiting from cash back from Quidco or similar ?
Is there a minimum period from cancelling to opening a new account to obtain cashback ?

That won't work unless you cancel for 12 months or more.
If you were to do as you propose, you would be classed as a returning customer and your original account would simply be reactivated with no Cashback deal available to you.

Just tried again this morning and got offered the same as above. Obviously I said no again but asked how many months I should leave it for offers to change and she said to try again in a month. So will be purchasing a now tv stick with a couple of months subscription for now (£14.99). And last night we started watching prime again so will get my money’s worth out of that now too.
