I can't get Virgin in new place so told Sky I wanted to keep it all together with one provider but their offer wasn't low enough so hopefully i get a call soon.
So I got a call back from Sky today and offered:-
Sky Entertainment TV
Sky Fibre Max
Talk Unlimited
Including free moving, no costs and free engineer visit in future in case my current box plays up and will replace if it needs to
£50 a month.
Not sure if that's decent but sadly had to ditch sky sports and not overly fussed with a Sky Q box.0 -

No £10 admin fee either as I made it clear at the start I wasn't paying it.
I don't know if this is right or not but I was using Facebook Messenger and the first agent I was speaking to finished his shift and passed me on to someone else. The first agent wouldn't budge on either the £10 admin fee or the £12 "Sky Q experience" additional monthly cost. I was getting ready for putting a cancellation in and taking my chances but I re-stated what I was looking for to the second agent (no admin fee & no additional monthly costs) and they immediately agreed with no haggling. I'm wondering if I got an agent with no quota left for offers initially but the second agent (just started their shift) had fallbacks to use for their retention stats (and bonuses).
I got an email shortly after I posted this claiming I was in a 12 month new contract (not the first time they've done this) which has previously turned out to be an incorrect email. After quite a few attempts via email to get confirmation with no one following up to their initial emails asking for security answers including 1 phone call where they wanted my full password (not a chance...) I finally got them to confirm just yesterday that they've waived the 12 month contract as they can't locate the Facebook Messenger chat where I double checked what I was signing up to. I can still see the chat though, so I advised them that I'll take their refusal to answer as confirmation in regards of no change in contract.
So be aware, getting a Q box will most probably start a new 12 month contract.0 -
My Sky TV was due to finish on the 27th, I called last night to see if anything better could be offered. In the end I settled for the following:
Entertainment £15
HD - £1
Boxsets - £1
Kids - £1
This could be taken out against either a 12 or 18 month contract but with a £10 admin fee. I know I have read that some waited for their service to cancel before being offered Entertainment at £11 but for the sake of £4 I was happy. Plus I am not going to be without TV for any period waiting possibly for a better offer to arise.0 -
My neighbours, in their mid 70's, told me they were paying £110pm for Sky TV and TalkTalk BB and phone so i set about trying to reduce their bills.
Their original package:
Sky
Variety Bundle £33.50pm
Sports Complete Pack £28.00pm
Sports HD £2pm
TalkTalk
BB 'Essentials' 3mbps & Phone £27.75
Line rental £18.95
Online chat with Sky first time offer:
Entertainment £15pm
Sports £18pm
Standard BB & Line Rental £25
Anytime Calls £8
So, i cancelled their Sky TV, due to end 6th Nov. Had a call a week later and they couldn't do any better. I kept checking their Sky account online and no offers at all. Sky would call and as I was at work my neighbours asked them to call back later but they never did. So in the end we called them back and the offer we got was:
Entertainment £17
Sky Sports HD £22
Fibre BB Unlimited & phone £27
Anytime calls £8
Yes, got lumbered with £10 admin charge and no matter how hard i pushed 'my friend got ....', 'could you do any better than that being as we've been with you over 10 years', they wouldn't budge. As my neighbours were getting a bit anxious due to coming up to the chop off date, they settled on the above. When their mobile contracts end with Vodafone i'll be looking in to those too. Sky do a decent sim only deal for up to 5 phones.
My neighbour was literally cringing while i was on the phone bargaining, but was incredibly grateful for my help and amazed Sky reduced their prices. End result, we're all happy being as it saved them £36pm.0 -
I see a trend in the recent prices people are getting Entertainment for (£15 - £17), what prices are people getting for Cinema add on? or just the £10 normal price?
Thanks.0 -
First got sky a few years ago with a 30-40% off deal via MSE. Renegotiated at each end of contract and got slight discounts each time (i think it has been twice and this will be the third time). Previous deal was £11.75 for the original bundle - think they forgot to reduce the discount at the right time but saw it was due to end in December and i knew i was out of contact. I've noticed that those who don't phone up every contract renewal don't seem to get a good deal so thought this info might be relevant.
Initial offer was Entertainment pack for £11 per month + £10 admin fee. The admin fee annoyed me so even though the offer was below my mental figure decided to leave (there was a few days between inital offer and asking to cancel). When asking for confirmation on when services would end (only previously said i was thinking about leaving, first time i actually said to cancel my contract) i was offered:
Entertainment pack £10 (reduced from £20)
HD Free (reduced from £5)
Boxsets Free (reduced from £5)
Total Monthly £10 (66.67% saving) - 18 Month contract
+ £10 admin fee (couldn't get them to budge on this but its only 55.5p per month over the term.
Also got the Sky Q 1TB for £20 install fee - don't think this is particularity a deal but considering what I'm paying seems ok.0 -
I have been looking to go back to Sky. I only have a single feed coming into my flat and had so many problems trying to get Sky Q, so it would just be Sky+ HD for me.
I was looking at Now TV, but really am not a fan of the interface and the 720p quality does not look great in my opinion.
I contacted Sky on Live chat and the best they are offering at the moment is £27 a month on an 18 month contract for:
£15 Entertainment
£1 Box Sets
£1 HD
£10 Cinema
It seems the winback offers may not be as good as some of the retention offers out there.
Have left it for the moment, as can't really warrant paying that much, when I would only be able to record/watch 1 channel at a time.0 -

It's £55 for new customers for Entertainment, Ultimate Boxsets/Netflix and Fibre max so you can do better.
You should know the prices for Sky and competitors BEFORE you speak to them, write them down so you can refer to them.0 -
I cancelled Sky TV last year and thought I'd see what they'd offer me to go back. I went on live chat and was offered:
Sky Entertainment Pack @ £17.00 pm
Sky Kids Pack @ £1.00 pm
Sky Box Set Pack @ £1.00 pm
Sky HD Pack @ £1.00 pm
Cinema Pack @ £11.00 pm
Total monthly cost will be £31 pm for 12 months and thereafter £58.00 per month. 12 months contract with £10 admin fee.
It seemed ok to me though I see people have been offered the entertainment pack for £15, and I'm not sure why the cinema pack is more than the normal £10. I didn't accept straight away as it would have been an extra £12 for multi room, so I thought I'd see what I could get Sky Q for. Unfortunately I have to ring up for that.0
