Since 12th October I've been with BT for TV services as Sky never made a better offer, but today I received a call from them offering me The Original Bundle free for 4 months with no contract, so I took it and have that set up in another room.
I've checked my bill and future bills and the credit is there to cover the 4 months.
Check your Sky contract as you may have signed for 4 free months on a 12 month contract, which would mean only approx. 33% off.0 -
My current Sky deal ends 22nd November and it gives me 50% off Sky Box Sets and Sky Movies so my monthly bills are £28. No way will I pay £56 for the service so I called up to cancel today and was offered 40% off my package on an 18 month deal which would take my bills up to £32.50 a month. Not the worst deal in the world but not as good as my current deal.
Do you think it's worth holding out for more of a discount? If I cancel I would have to return my Sky Q box. I would also need to look into getting Freesat because of the weird set up in my living room, the television aerial comes into the opposite end of the room from the satellite connection.0 -

As per previous post, make sure any 18 month offer is for discounts for the WHOLE 18 months - there are tales of people only getting discounts for 12 but being tied in for 18 months:(0 -
Hi,
Have been offered the following via online chat. Have been receiving telephone calls daily trying to get in touch with me but they've been catching me at a bad time. Should I hold out for more?
Current package: £62/month - Variety Bundle with Sky Cinema, Sky+HD box.
Offers:
Keep existing box - 40% off existing contract for 12 months, rolling contract
Sky Q box - Sky Box Sets, Sky Cinema, Sky Q Mini (seemed to only want to offer with extra box), 18 month contract - £54/month.
I'm torn. Have recently moved internet and broadband to Virgin Media and could top up with TV to a nearly equivalent package for something like £28-30/month (and only a 12 month contract!). Not keen on moving to Virgin for TV - have had two different Virgin boxes in two different properties over last few years, both were shocking. I'm not especially keen to keep my existing box either - it's becoming a bit slow, the remote is playing up (again) so would have to purchase another, and obviously it doesn't have the functionality of Sky Q.
What would you do?0 -
If it was me I'd not be accepting that offer. At the very least you should expect 50% off. I managed to get 60% but that was after a lot of hard work. I pay £29 for box sets, sports & movies. As this is now my second year on that deal I'd be loathe to pay more. I'm on the normal HD box, Q doesn't really appeal.
As others have mentioned be careful with 18mth deals. Especially with Sky Q it tends to be an 18mth contract but your %discount only lasts for 12mths. They try to tell you that you can call back for another offer at 12mths but the reality is you have no real negotiating position at that stage so the chances of getting anything good are likely to be slim.0 -
My deal which is £20 a month for the full package has been extended for another 12 months, I’ve also had a letter confirming this
Think I was on a similar deal which is about to end. £20 a month for full package and £100 credit.
Just done online chat and the maximum he could offer was 50% off.
So 31 days notice has just been serviced0 -
My 60% off deal should end on Dec 26th. Usually call and cancel 30 days before.
But just noticed on future bills that the discounted price is still running upto Feb 2018, that's as far it tells you anyway.
Is there anybody else that's coming to the end of a deal and got the same? I know a month or so ago I had a look at my future bills and the price showed an increase for my December bill onward. Strange!
Probably will keep an eye on it and leave it running
Same here. My 12 discount month was due to end middle of December. But just logged in ahead of the cancellation pantomime and my future bills still show £32/month for Movies, Sports, Boxsets.... ie everything.
Can't recall seeing any email or letter. But happy to carry on with the discount if its legit. Saves wasting both our times with charades.
Just wish BT would do the same.17 x 300W panels (5.1kW) on a 3.68kW SolarEdge system in Sunny Sheffield.

Im with Sky at the moment and pay £80.99 a month for the box set TV bundle and fibre unlimited. Been on the live chat today and the best they could offer, with an upgrade to the Sky Q 1TB box, was £53.49 and £30 admin, installation fee, but it meant dropping down to the Original TV bundle.
Does that sound like a decent deal?
I didn't try the i want to cancel trick but said id be back in touch.0 -

Cancel your TV and you will start to get offers of at least 50% off.
With regards b/band and phone. see what T/talk (in particular). Virgin, BT, etc, are offering. Then contact Sky to see if they are willing to match the offers at least. If not, move over to the other supplier and get them to cancel.

I cancelled on the 17th October. First offer was for 40% off TV and some other discount on fibre bb.
Since then via live chat the offered have been worse. I received an eagerly awaited call from retentions yesterday, rubbing my hands together expect a good deal. He offered 30% off TV. So for the box sets, fibre, and multi room it was £78. Previously quoted 58 for the same but dropping to variety. I wouldn't expect much from retentions.0
