In terms of best and worst customer service, my experience of Virgin Media is worse than Sky. My experiences tally with the Consumer Association (Which?) as their latest report in September placed Sky (joint 91st) and Virgin Media (joint 94th) out of a 100.

The only companies worse than Sky for customer service are Scottish Power, Npower, TalkTalk, Virgin Media, Poundstretcher, Ryanair, Vodafone and Sportsdirect (100th and last!)... in that order.

Just checked my bills and I also have a 2p credit sandwiched among the long list of overcharges on my August bill. If I were to attempt to interpret my Sky August bill, I'd go with the following...

"Here's your <insert applicable month here> bill from Sky. Our billing system is overcharging you this month by over £30 <or more, or less, depending on your package>, and shall continue to do so next month, and the month after that ad nauseam. We've absolutely no idea why this is happening either. Ideally, we hope you won't notice, but if you do... as a sweetener... we shall also throw in a further utterly confusing credit of 2p in order to ensure you continue to BELIEVE IN BETTER!"

 -just looked at my future bill for November .....and it has changed for the worse ! They have added in a charge for 17 days of discounted Sky box sets from end October...which according to the October bill, I have already paid!!
No more phone calls -=I've spent enuf of my time and cash on that route already -I'm going to raise an official complaint - I'll try via email first.-you couldn't make it up:mad:

My Sky contract start date is not the same as my billing date, as I left but returned, before a refund of advance payments was made, so my old billing date was retained.

In this case I would expect an overlap of pre and post offer prices on the last bill (as the first was also not for an exact month).

Yup -Understand all that - but my contract minimum term would have finished on 30th Oct,and billing date is 14th of month so the bill I have just paid should be roughly an average of the pre and post monthly deal prices ie £30.40 . They have charged me £23.25!! which includes about 25 debits and credits ,some of which don't appear to relate to anything at all but SHOULD include the £10 credit for the admin charge which will appear in the next bill.
Looking at the future bill for November payment,it includes a random charge for 17 days of discounted box sets in October!!
    Overall I THINK I'm ~ £12+ down.
  • My sky ended after it went up from 32 to 80! Just picked up 4 now tv boxes 19.99 each at Argos with 1 month of sky sports - all 10 channels. That will do me, only had sky for the sport.

    Hi All,

My blagged MSE deal from last year is coming to an end next month. I have the complete bundle 2tb Sky Q, with an additional mini box (multiscreen) for £42. Whats the best renewal terms anyone has been offered?

I gave my 30 day notice to cancel and the best I've been offered is £63.30pm with a £25 bill credit on a 30 day rolling contract

You won't get the best deals mid-minimum term, unless you are leaving because of a price increase (excluding a rise due toa deal's ending.)
  • I had the same issue getting them to budge with the price of multiscreen, so cancelled it and went with the 50% off offer. I checked on my account on my sky box and there was an offer for 50% off multiscreen for 6 months (no minimum term).
Cheers. Gonna give that a bash now. Only getting a 40% offer on the "left Sky in the last 12 months page" so let's see what live chat says.

Got 50% off the 1 box so £19 a month. Can't find the offer for multiscreen anywhere yet

All the multiscreen stuff these days seems to be SkyQ only :(

I have a question about end of contract haggling if I may -

The last time I cancelled with SKY (TV only), they wouldn't offer a better deal, so I switched to another provider (BT). If I remember correctly, BT handled the switchover and once it was obvious I was leaving SKY they contacted me to offer a deal - lo and behold!!

Is it possible to cancel the switchover to a new provider in these circumstances? If not, why do SKY bother waiting for you to actually leave them before offering an incentive?
